“A gracios and experienced hostess who provides a magestic place of serenity and peace and five star breakfast meals while conven”
Reviewed 23 March 2012

I am well traveled and experienced with bed and breakfast places and this was by far the BEST experience! Ms. Bonnie and her staff are simultaneously gracious and welcoming while still allowing personal time for privacy. The rooms are all so different but offer amazing slices of serenity that make you feel like you are transported to another world. When I travel I like to spend all of my time outside if the hotel but while staying At this b&b I found myself leaving late and returning mid afternoon and early evening. The large bathrooms with large bathtubs, fireplaces, and private porches with rockets, popasin chairs, and plants offer a magestic, quiet place for reading , coffee, picnics, or just gazing through the trees and falling leaves. Every morning, long before breakfast hot coffee and hot water for tea are placed on beautiful trays just outside your room. In the afternoons there are ice cold sodas in the upstairs hallway refrigerator. In the evening various wines are provided in crystal glassware just upstairs in the hallway. I always felt like I had access to everything without feeling like I needed to go ask someone for it. Ms. Bonnie is a hostess who will provide maps, brochures, coupons, and any other info her guests need but also enable her guests to do their own explorations. I loved that the house was close enough to walk a few minutes to be in town but far enough to not hear anything going on in town. I can't describe in words the five star culinary masterpieces provided for breakfast! What variety, what a treat with lit candles and fine china and linen... A great way to start the day. This is by far the best bed and breakfast AND hotel experience I have ever had- a place I will most definitely return to sooner rather than later.

The Alexander Homestead was the perfect spot for us to end our vacation in Florida. We stated in the Hideaway suite that is over the garage. We were there just a few days before St. Patricks Day and the town was all the buzz as they were preparing for the celebration.

This was perfect as we were looking for something that wasn't a hotel for our family of four, including 2 boys!! Breakfast was AMAZING! Shower and bath was AMAZING! Spa tub in master and 5 head shower in spare bath. Linens in the master was amazing!! I was really impressed that the boys loved it and want to go back!! The B&B is located just a block or so outside of the tourist attractions. Perfect for us, as we enjoy being close to, but not in the middle of it all. We parked the car and never used it until we left. We were within walking distance of everything we wanted to see. Wish we had more time there. Bonnie and her crew were the best. We will be staying here again...hopefully soon!

Only thing I wish was different was that the cable TV was set to where you had to watch the same thing in the living room as the master. If it were just two, that wouldn't be a problem. But when traveling with kids, we did have to watch a movie in one and TV in the other. Again, this is not a show stopper for us. We brought plenty of movies and actually, Bonnie has a nice collection of DVD's if needed.

Room Tip: The Hideaway was great for a family of four. Get the quaintness of a B&B but not having to have...

Was absolutely wonderful....we stayed in the Victoriana, felt like we had entered the 16th century..every detail brought a smile ...bubble bath waiting in an old English creamer.Quaint decor and wall paper beckoning one back to days gone by...The entire Homestead was a delight to discover....the hostess was a lovely gracious wee woman as well!! Her smile was very infectious...thank you for the wonderful time....breakfast was scrumptious set in a fine dining room with echoes of enjoyment from past guests.
Our room was enormous with a private screened porch that included squirrel entertainment from the nearby trees...

We stayed here on MARCH 13,2012 and found it to be just wonderful.. We arrived earlier than check in time, but because we told them in advance they had the room ready for us. Diane greeted us with a smile and graciously gave us an instructive tour of the residence. The room and bathroom were immaculate and exactly as pictured in the website. Location was perfect and within easy walking distance to the historic section. It is in a lovely residential neighborhood and was very quiet. Our room had a private porch where we enjoyed the free wine provided by our hosts in the afternoon before dinner. I would be remiss if I didn't rave about the delicious and bountiful homemade breakfast of fruit cup, eggs, and great bread pudding. The bottomless coffee in the morning was absolutely delicious. The owner Bonnie was a delight and helped familiarize us with all the local information. We will definitely stay her again.

This B & B is located in the Historic downtown area. Walking distance to all attractions ,good restaurants and sightseeing train. A very nice house, warmly decorated with many additional amenities. Bonnie and staff are very helpful and have lots of good tips for the visit.
Breakfast is served at 9:00 a.m. - this can be a little late if you are an early riser. Also, quiche two days in a row is a little disappointing.

Room Tip: Did not see all the rooms - so cannot comment
