We went on a Saturday night in January for our first visit to Gianni's.. The times available for a reservation were 6pm or 8pm.. We took the 6pm with hesitation as too early for us.. but I was pleased we did.. since as the night moves forward, the restaurant becomes more crowded and a bit uncomfortable as more people crowd in...

The food and service were excellent as if we were back in Italy.. no complaints on quality or quantity of food. Every dish cooked with just the right attention to detail.

The dining room scene is crowded with some great people watching! Ask for a table as far away from the doors as possible.. Do NOT sit in the bar area.. the crowds standing waiting for a table in the bar area are distracting and bothersome...

It was a great birthday celebration, especially since one of our party is very difficult to please and he was happy..

Go for it.. but go early....

First, the good news. Went on the day that spaghetti & meatballs were on special. That was delicious - especially the meatballs! Second, the not good news: A) Parking is difficult, B) Restaurant is VERY noisy with many hard surfaces for the sound to bounce off (could use some acoustical tiles), C) don't look up at the fan blades - one was not running and it looks like it has never been cleaned since installation, and D) Let me be polite and just say, that in addition to there being no towels there, it looked like it had been in need of attention for some time. And here I was expecting something special - disappointed; indeed, "average" is generous.

We were booked for 7-30 pm party of four ,arriving at 7-25 pm finally seated at 7-55pm after asking numerous times.
Drinks orders taken promptly and arrived quickly ,only part of service that could be called good.
The place as Saturday was heaving and very busy and obviously over books !
Eventually our waiter arrived and we ordered.
Salads came with our main course orders , salad ok and dressing was good.
Minestrone soup uuugh! Over cooked could have been from a tin was so tasteless.
Long wait before mains arrived do not think it was because they were being cooked as all tasted pre prepared and sauce added ,same sauce !,,,
Main courses veal parmisan big ,bland with old fashioned tomato ,a sauce more suitable to a child’s dish.

Other dish egg plant parmigiana really bland tasteless stodgy in horrible tomato sauce accompanied by spagetthi in same horrible bland over cooked tomato sauce.
Finally Tartufo not like it should be pretty plastic.
All in all not a place to recommend or visit again.
Was very busy so obviously has a following of people who like large portions of bland stodgy food ,some of which they can take home in for later boxes .Never been in a restaurant and seen so many people leaving with for later boxes.
Price middling
If you like noisy restaurants with cxxxxy food then this place is for you!

It's a stand alone building, the main entrance is from the parking lot. You enter trough the lounge. They have tables and chairs with white table clothes and napkins, the customers are mostly white, over 50, about half women usually 5 or 6 to a table. The waitstaff is similar to the customers. We met , our son Michael for dinner. He has lunch here, says the specials at lunch are $10. At dinner its times 5. The food was good.

No respect for reservation times... we waited 20 minutes to be seated. Then we waited another 90 minutes to get our entrees. good news is that the waiter acknowledged the issues in the kitchen and the lack of skill by the owner's son to manage the flow of food our of the kitchen when DAD is gone. As it relates to the food, the sauce is it too sweet and pasta was cold. However, veal chop and garlic bread was better than expected. The server exceeded expectations and did his best considering the circumstances. Had a better experience at Olive Garden. They pack the customers like sardines.
