Our son participated in the production of "The Pillowman" in October of 2012 while in flight school.
It was a dark play but was very well done by the local talent. We were impressed with the caliber of the actors involved.

Been to several shows and never seen a bad one. It also helps that there is not a bad seat in the place. Bathrooms tend to get crowded before and during break so remember there are bathrooms upstairs too. Also, the snack bar takes cash only. Ticket prices can't be beat. At the end of the shows, you can meet and take pictures with the actors. Love this little theatre!!

Pensaacola Little Theatre is well known for its quality productions. This past weekend they presented a marvelous adaptation of The Wizard of Oz under the expert direction of Dr. Steven Lott. I have visited this theatre many times and always been delighted with an evening of great entertainment. Just 3 more shows of The Wizard of Oz...this weekend (Aug. 9th-13th) 2013.

Saw Short Attention Span at PLT Thursday night and enjoyed it. They do this show every year, but every year it has different plays. Always lots of laughs during these short plays. There were 6 plays this year and they all were good. Out favorite this year was "Dog Day Afternoon".

Having only a weekend to enjoy Pensacola the reviews on this page helped us choose Pensacola Little Theatre. It's possible that they put on excellent shows but Titanic the "Musical" was nothing but disappointing tunes.

Without exaggeration, a choir in tuxes brandished folders and sang hardly tolerable story-driven biographies to a powerpoint of overused pictures. It was like Wikipedia put to impromptu melodies. If that wasn't enough to make a quick exit only 3 of the 20+ voices were enjoyable. (That said, those 3 voices could make an entrance on off-broadway.)

I appreciate that the local community comes together to put these programs on but don't call a Titanic church choir slideshow... a Musical. Call it a "Chorus" or "Choral" but musical is reserved for Wicked, Lion King, or Rent.

Out of courtesy we stayed until intermission when a small throng of people joined us in a mad dash for the door. One worker yelled, "It's not over yet!"

At $40 for the cheaper seats, my wife and I would have done better to catch a movie and an appetizer at the amazing Irish Pub around the corner.
