We have been eating here roughly monthly since they opened in 2006 so maybe a hundred times. It’s one of our handful of go-to restaurants in the immediate area. It’s not only that it’s near to us (although that helps!) but I cannot remember ever being disappointed by a meal. Our favorite meals are the grouper livornese, veal saltimbocca, short rib (special), veal osso buco (special), and veal chop (special). This is not to imply that other items aren’t good, these are just the ones that stick in my mind.
We’ve eaten here in a variety of situations, from couples date night with the place practically empty to dinners with two or four other friends to one particularly uproarious Christmas Eve dinner with ten of us crammed into an upstairs table having a fabulous time.
Some other reviewers’ criticisms are warranted while some I have a hard time understanding. The restaurant can be noisy when crowded (probably due to the flooring?) and the efficiency of the wait staff might be seen as “rushing” the customer, I suppose. But a rude wait staff? Never. Inedible food? Never. Located in a strip mall? I’m wondering what restaurant that reviewer actually went to. And one should never ever ever review a restaurant solely on the basis of a high volume holiday like Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day IMHO.
So, to summarize this long catch-up review, we love this restaurant and expect to continue to go there as long as they’ll have us.
