The following review is my opinion only- Was there this weekend with the family, check-in was long, staff doesn't look really happy to see you. After we checked in, we could not get really good directions to where our room was, very confusing as the resort is very large and we we were not
staying in the main building. We were staying in the Islander Suites, which was on the other side of the main building, staff was scarce for any help. If you self park, it's not fun getting to your room, very confusing. The room was a Suite, very large, 1 1/2 bath separate living room, it was somewhat clean but very outdated, shower area had mold all-around the bottom of grout, gross. The rugs in the room were dirty, most of the seat covers on chairs were filthy. The room had 2 balconies, both which had mud and dirt. The suites building had automatic doors where anyone can enter at anytime of the day, never saw any security or much staff other than housekeeping. The location is great for an easy walk to downtown Disney, but not enough to get us back next time. The hotel needs a facelift, booked through a 2nd party website which listed it as a four star hotel, which go us it was definitely no, and that's my 2 cents.

Room tip: If you choose to stay here request a room in the main tower.

This hotel suffers from bad service, bad management, and bad attitudes ----I have stayed in this hotel once a year the past several years because of its location to downtown Disney. The first year we stayed we were happy and it keeps going downhill. This year will be our very last year staying at this hotel. I am a Florida resident and was celebrating my husband’s birthday. I wanted to book something special and he loves being able to walk to downtown Disney. There was a Florida resident special so I called to book. They were out of the Island Suite (that I usually got) and only had a regular room or Penthouse suite. I told them I wanted a room with a view of the fireworks. They assured me I could have that with the Penthouse suite. I decided to bite the bullet and pay the discounted rate of 359.00 per night (plus a daily resort charge of 21.95). When I arrived I was addressed at the check in by someone who clearly woke up on the wrong side of the bed and decided I should pay the price for her rotten day. Next as she was looking to check me in I asked if she could double check that we had a suite with a firework view and she said she did not know. When I asked her to check she left for about 8 to 10 min and said they don’t have any suites that have a view of the fireworks that all penthouse suites are unable to see fireworks. I said that was the whole point of my previous conversation when booking the best suite they had to offer. They said sorry, you can have a regular room and deal with it (yes they said “and deal with it”) or take the penthouse suite. Since this was supposed to be a special birthday week and I had an Aunt and Uncle on their way to had an evening celebration in the dining room of the suite I took the suite. I should have been suspicious when getting off the elevator of the Island building. The carpets were atrocious and in much need of replacement. They were loose with ripples everywhere and filthy. The suite appeared very luxurious until you looked closer. The room was not very clean and we were very low on washcloths. When I asked for some washcloths I was told to use a hand towel as they were out of washcloths. When I asked for a liner for my ice bucket I was told they were out. The area around the sliding doors that went to the balconies had piles of dirt and bugs on the inside. It was obvious no one had vacuumed in a few days or maybe weeks. The tub was dirty. They were stingy with the “in room coffee” we had enough to make one 4-cup pot. Some of my towels were dirty. The furniture on the roof balcony was so dirty. I know it is outside, but they could wipe it down once per day since it is supposed to be a luxury experience. The hotel had MAJOR wasp issue. My husband got stung twice when sitting on the balcony. I asked them to come spray and no one responded. The pool area was nice at one time. All the padding on the loungers needed to be replaced they were ripped. No one cleaned up the empty glasses and dishes that people got from the pool bar and restaurant. The ONLY thing great about this trip was that we walked to downtown Disney. We won’t be staying here another year. We will give someone else our money. There were many more complaints I have but I got the idea across. This hotel suffers from bad service, bad management, and bad attitudes.

Room tip: If you want a view of the fireworks, I was told the Penthouse suites have no view of the fireworks (regardless they promised I would be able to see them when reserving).

First, traveling was my husband, 20yr old daughter, my 6yr old son, and me. My husband called to confirm our room one week prior to our 3 night stay to ensure that we would have 2 double or queen beds. They said no problem. We arrive and they had no rooms with 2 beds left. So, they wanted to put us in a room with one king and a double sleeper sofa(which the sofa sleepers are not comfortable, unless you are a small child). Well, my husband was upset, so to accommodate they put us in a suite with the same sleeping situation but just a larger room and offered a rollaway at no extra charge. We went to our room and it took forever for them to bring the rollaway and extra towels. And thank goodness we got a rollaway because the sleeper sofa was really, really worn. The room we stayed in was old with poor ventilation so there was mildew in corners of the room and bathroom and it looked liked they tried to paint over it. The glass shower leaked out big time. Our room was "poolside" and people were at the pool until 1 and 2 am, and they were loud! You could hear every time the balcony door opened and closed from the room above. Now, they were 2 buildings, the main and the other one that we stayed in across on the other side of the pool. I'm not sure if the main building was any better and the building we stayed in was older, but that was where the suites were so, not sure. The thing I did like is that we were able to walk to Downtown Disney.

The location and the property itself was pretty good. However the pool area is relatively small and the spa is not that large. It is nice though that the hotel offers a spa and other amenities like wireless internet, Disney store, and quick service food option. The transportation to Disney was relatively reliable but I think the Disney owned transportation is better. When I walked into my room there was candy and crumbs all over the carpeting! And there were some signs of mold starting to build up in the bathroom shower! Because of the floor being so dirty we had to call housekeeping to re-vacuum our room. The fact that we had to call housekeeping when we got into the room was very disappointing to say the least.

Room tip: A high floor room in the main tower that faces the north or west (so the room faces the Downtown Disney area)
