Residence Inn Orlando at SeaWorld

All that glitters isn't gold:-). The Residence Inn Seaworld is not the newest, shiniest or grandest - if hotels were clothes, this wouldn't be a tuxedo, but your old faithful, comfortable blue jeans. The carpets have a stain here or there, but the rooms are spacious and clean. Our family of 5 enjoyed the complimentary hot breakfast buffet, which really helped the food budget on our trip to Seaworld. I also appreciated the spaciousness of the breakfast area - lots of tables to accommodate the many families. The buffet is true cafeteria style, with trays and a little rail to slide it on as you pick your food. The breakfast is pretty heavy on the carbs (Danishes, cereals, oatmeal, biscuits, bagels, etc.) and light on the protein (eggs daily, with one other protein; we had sausage on 3 of the 4 mornings, ham on the other). My kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool, and the Pizza Hut Express is convenient to have around. We used the free shuttle to Seaworld and Aquatica with no problems, other than that the bus was a little off schedule one day (10-15 mins late). However, since Seaworld is literally around the corner, we didn't mind. I can wait a while to avoid the $14 parking fee and searching a huge parking lot for my car. Hotel staff is friendly and efficient. The concierge will offer the timeshare talk, but there is no pressure if you say no thanks. All in all, a good value for the money in a great location.

We stayed for 10 nights up to 2 April.
Really great place for families with young kids (ours are 6 and 4). They loved the pool, which is genuinely child friendly, but don't expect to do your lengths in it if you're a grown up. The kids enjoyed watching the natives playing basketball, a game they hadn't seen before.
Being from the UK we aren't generally used to suites, so the space in the one bedroom suites is really good, and nice to have a well equipped kitchenette.
Staff on reception were always helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
Breakfast is good, but it's a real fight to get a table on the weekends when the hotel is really busy. We wanted to try the "grits" (what are they!?!) but they looked too much like semolina.
And the location is really good if you're focused on the non-Disney attractions like Gatorland, Seaworld and for access to I-Drive - get there on the trolley it's great fun.

Room Tip: Because the front of the hotel is right on the Interstate 4 and the back overlooks the pool and bask...

We were down for the NPE conference and had to split our stay at two different hotels. Needless to stay we will not be staying at this hotel. The floors were very very dirty. The halls and rooms smelt musty. We walked in our hotel room with our shoes on the entire time. Its a pet friendly facility (dislike). Carpet it not attractive when you see pets around. The resturant was -ok-. Way too over priced for what you get. We will be staying across the street from now on. The hotel across the street is much cheaper and 5* quality. I was not impressed with the pool- very small for the amount of people at the hotel. Breakfast was nice and tasted great. But if they lowered thier prices of the drinks and dinners from the bar people would spend a lot more money there. Staff was friendly- however our "do not disturb" sign was not in our room on our door. We had to ask the front desk staff to put one on our door. We did end up coming back to our room with the staff cleaning. Not something I appreciate. There are better places to stay for the money. This room was way more than our other hotel and the other hotel across the street is 100% better. The hotel across the street offers activities for kids (arts and crafts). They also have a full size movie theater and feature a different movie every night. FYI- the pillows here are terrible. They get hard as a rock when you sleep. Bed was not comfortable at all.

The Residence Inn-SeaWorld was the best place to stay not only for getting around to ALL the Disney Theme Parks, but restaurants, shopping malls, airport, Kennedy Space Center, Cocoa Beach, etc., etc. I was "totally" impressed with the suite I stayed in! It included the following: computer hookup, desk/swivel chair, comfortable beds, block out curtains, kitchen (refrig, ice maker, table/chairs, dishwasher, cooking & eating supplies, big plasma TV and couch.
The climate control was awesome! The air conditioning was fabulous!
The breakfast buffet had everything a person could possibly want!
There were courtesy computers 24/7! The front desk staff were very courteous and professional.
They also had a swimming pool, bar, snack bar, exercise room and meeting rooms.
The Residence Inn-SeaWorld was very quiet and well kept by the housekeeping and grounds employees.
It seemed to be a great place for business people, families and tour groups.

Room Tip: Call the Residence Inn and talk to management.
