“Great as Always!!! Favorite Moderate @ Disney World!!!!”
Reviewed 2 May 2012

Stayed here for 12 days and LOVED it!!! This is my favorite moderate resort in all of Disney World!! Staff was very polite and helpful. Compared to the other Disney moderates, this one is small & compact, so it's easy to get everywhere. The beignets are so addicting!!!! We find it very quiet most of the time, although it did get a little loud at the pool area during the day with the kids games.

I would say the only "cons" were transportation was spotty at times (but that is not the resort's fault) and the pool heater went down for a couple of days, but nothing major.

Room Tip: Building 5 is a great building, as it's close to everything.

We stayed in the French Quarter for three nights during our honeymoon. The resort was excellent for easy access to food and all the parks, which are all just a quick bus ride away. There is also the fun option of taking a riverboat to several places, like Downtown Disney.

The room itself is what you would expect from other moderate Disney Resort. It is clean, but the beds are a bit uncomfortable, the comforters and sheets are rough, the shower/toilet room is very tiny, and the provided toiletries only include a shampoo/conditioner and bar soap. The resort does provide free WiFi that is very easy to access, which is an added plus. Each day, house keeping leaves a fun little towel decoration somewhere in the room. When we requested a check out that was 30 minutes later (normal check out is 11am), they would not accommodate our request.

Using the Disney Magical Express was excellent, and the resort took care of all of our check-in needs for our airport departure to include checking our bags from the hotel and printing out our boarding passes. All of the hotel staff was very nice; however, there was always a very long wait for the concierge services, no matter what time we stopped by.

We would definitely recommend staying at the French Quarter if you'd like an affordable Disney Resort with easy access to the parks and aren't concerned with a fancy resort room.

We were greeted at Disney with a wet dirty washcloth and pub-hairs on bathroom. Even the Mickey towel design on our bed was sloppy. When I mentioned it to our maid she just looked at me. I went to talk to front desk, but it was too busy to stand a wait and lose time that could be spent in park. I wrote a letter to Disney, so stay tune…

Food in the restaurant was avg.

We traveled to Port Orleans, French Quarter for our honeymoon last October. My husband is an avid Disney goer, and has been since he was a child (he's been there no less than 25 times). He did hours of research before deciding on this resort. One of the reasons is that it was freshly renovated the summer before our vacation. You could definitely tell things there were new. He said by talking to the lady on the phone, they were really trying to make the trip special for us. They definitely delivered.

We loved this place. He reserved on the phone and we got a quiet room on the water, on the end of the building. We even had two windows! It was a little trek from the front, but not bad at all. We got our king bed, and they put a signed "congratulations!" picture signed by Mickey and Minnie. We had towel art every day by our housekeepers and the room was clean upon arrival, and clean every single day we were there. We even had to ask housekeeping to come back one morning because we weren't ready yet (to be fair, it was noon).

Check in was a breeze, we got there about 5pm, and received buttons that we were just married and our cards. We did not have one single problem with those cards the whole time we were there. It was awesome just scanning them to get into the park or to pay for our meals. The gave us a free dining plan when we reserved and explained the plan well upon check in. One of the very best things about the French Quarter is that it is not overly big compared to the other resorts. It feels more intimate, and it makes things like the food court and the "streets" in general less busy. The pool was beautiful. We didn't use it, as we're not pool people, but it looked very well maintained and the kids there were having a blast.

We used the buses the entire time we were there. We didn't drive anywhere the entire 2 weeks .... the wait was not long at all (when it was raining it felt long, but it was really only about 15 minutes...) and it was a breeze getting to and from all the parks, and park hopping in between. We didn't even drive to Universal Studios. The concierge set up a bus for us (for a fee) so we didn't have to navigate there either.

The staff was friendly, the food court was great (especially when coming in late from the parks to grab a quick bite before heading to your room) and the Port Orleans Riverside was only a short (romantic!) walk from the French Quarter. We ate at the sit down restaurant there twice because we liked it so much the first day.

We also loved how you could take a boat to Downtown Disney. Our room was right next to the river, so it took us about 3 minutes to get the to dock. A really nice boat ride later, you're Downtown.

The bed was comfy, though, after 12 hours of a theme park, any bed is awesome. We stayed for two weeks there and never had any sort of problem.

The only "bad" things (not even really bad) were we had a very excited little boy staying in the room next to us and his parents would let him run up and down the hallways in the morning. But, it was about 8:00, it was almost time to get up anyway. And, because we were on the water, you could hear the boats honking as they passed at night. This was only until 11pm or midnight though, and by the time we were 2 days in, I didn't even notice it anymore.

We were so pleased with our stay here, and we had an absolutely magical honeymoon. I would stay here again in an instant, but will most likely be trying the other resorts, as I've married into a Disney family. I would highly recommend this resort to a vacationing couple, or like anywhere in Disney, a family.

Room Tip: If you want something really nice, ask to be put near the back on the river. It's quiet back th...

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon & we were amazed at the friendly service that we got from the moment we stepped off the bus to when we left. The food court has amazing foods, the rooms are always clean, the pool rocks, & this resort is only a boat ride away from Downtown Disney. Thank you for making our stay fun.
