Booked this trip with though a groupon voucher which are sometimes misleading. BUT this was a great trip through the Indian River Lagoon in New Smyrna. It was approximately 2 hrs long. We have been on several boat tours around the area and Florida and I have to say this was one of the better ones. There were plenty sightings of dolphin and manatees. The Captain and first mate were real nice and the trip was very informative. Its good to learn something new on different trips.

We took my parents (70's) on this tour last Sat afternoon and it was really a nice time. Our captain and Vanessa were very nice and made everyone feel welcome. We had the chance to see manatees and a few dolphins as well as enjoying some sea birds and hear more about the area. It was REALLY nice that you could bring your own food and beverages along with you so we packed a lunch and drinks. We did this tour on a Groupon so the cost was really reasonable.

We had a wonderful time with Captain Pete! He made our boat trip a relaxing, fun-filled afternoon for the grandparents, us and the kiddos. He supplied a life jacket for the 4 year old; got both kids involved in driving the boat; and engaged all of us in conversation about the wildlife, the area, and anything we wanted to chat about. We brought on food and drink to a very clean boat. We were picked up and dropped off at JB's Restaurant boat docks (this made it easy to leave our car in the parking lot of the restaurant).

We fished and caught at least 5-10 fish each--none were big fish and we threw all of them back--but we caught a lot of fish. Captain Pete brought all the fishing poles, gear and bait. He baited our hooks for us and took the fish off for us. We went to several different locations and Captain Pete paid attention to when the kiddos were getting antsy (to change the scenery). We stopped off at an island and the kids had fun exploring.

Captain Pete said his wife picked NSB to retire to (happy wife, happy life...) so to keep her happy by not spending 24/7 with her (haha)--he chose a hobby with flexible hours and something that he enjoyed. Fishing and meeting interesting people. I enjoyed that he shared about himself and told some stories about some of his clients (like the group of female teachers who start pouring martinis from the time they get on until the time they get off--with help, of course). He said that most of his business is repeat business.

It was a great time! We saw many different birds and fish, horseshoe crabs, a shark and (the highlight) dolphins! They seemed to like the boat and swam just under the water right beside the boat! Exciting and exhilarating at the same time!!!

This was well worth the reasonable price. Thanks Captain Pete!

Captain Pete was the best. He was unfailingly polite and knowledgeable. He knows where the manatees congregate in the summer, where to find the dolphins, and took us to a beach where my teenaged nieces could pick up and hold hermit crabs. What a thrill. He knew all the wildlife in the lagoon system, including where Ospreys had nests. We saw some beautiful real estate. And he provided us with some dining suggestions and plenty of laughs. It was $120 for a two hour tour for 6 of us and worth every penny. I gave him a 20% tip at the end of the cruise. I would definitely book with him again. Thank you, Captain Pete for a wonderful cruise!
