My wife and I recently spent 6 weeks in "Paradise" in a 2 bedroom/2bath condo overlooking the water in New Smyrna Beach. The single story villa from Kate's Places was extremely clean, clearly better than advertised. In the morning we awoke to plentiful wildlife such as birds and jumping fish and on many mornings we were amazed at pods of dolphins passing through. Can't think of many more relaxing things than watching a group of 6 or so Dolphins slowly fishing 20 or so yards from your doorstep!
One of the best parts of this stay was the proximity to Flagler Ave and Canal Street. Walking to great restaurants of which there are many, some high end and others not, gave us many choices without having to drive. It seemed each weekend there was some kind of festival such as the "Wine Walk", a 25 restaurant tasting event or the "Chili-Chowder" cook off the following week. We always had things to do.
Maybe best of all were our hosts, Kate, John and David who were all very attentive to all our needs. They took the time to welcome us on our 1st day and luckily while we spoke often, we didn't need anything due to the perfect condition they maintain their units in. They had everything you might want like a fully equipped kitchen, grills, kayaks, bikes, in unit washer/dryers, high speed wifi and big flat screen TVs. Our unit even had a piano and surprisingly one of our weekend guests spent a little time " tickling the Ivories" to the amazement of us all.
We are so looking forward to an extended stay next year and will definately be returning to this little corner of "Paradise" called Kate's Places.
