The Conservancy is right next door to the Naples Zoo. Each will take a major part of the day to explore, so don't plan on visiting both on the same day. The Conservancy has a Discovery Center
which is manned by volunteer docents who will give guests a guided tour of the Center. The tour will include information on the hydrology of Florida, reptiles of Florida, sea life, and sea turtles. This tour will be tailored to the guests, so if you have young kids with you, hydrology, for instance, would not be a topic. There are live snakes, live baby alligators, live turtles, a touch tank (kids love this - they can pick up the creatures living in the tank) and a 5,000 gallon aquarium with native fish and a young loggerhead sea turtle. There is also a wildlife hospital with a viewing portal and an open-air habitat which features an American eagle, a hawk, and an owl. There's also a boat ride through the mangroves into the Gordon River and two short nature trails as well as a viewing area in a swampy section of the property. The gift shop has lots of interesting stuff too.

The staff here are wonderful. They are very helpful and answer any questions. You can learn about the Alligators and Turtle that are part of the Naples Area. And lots other animals of Naples and Florida. We enjoyed very much.

The Conservancy is dedicated to conserving land as well as educating the population about the natural resources of FL. I enjoy their lectures and boat trips. They also have a unique animal hospital where local injured/ill wildlife are cared for
