Great Latin-American spot for having your breakfast, lunch or dinner. Service is excellent, waiters try to accommodate as much as people as the place fits with kind attitude. Food is great: you can have large portions for very modest prices and very very good quality. Fish, chicken, beef, plantains, rice...everything is great and cooked the right way. My suggestion is to also try their 'flan de coco' dessert. A MUST!

We hit this joint up at least once for breakfast each time we visit. The service hasn't change (excellent) and the breakfast and coffee is great! Each trip out I practice my spanish and get a little better. Each time we go its the desayuno especial and omelette. There is nothing flashy or fancy, just great food at a great price, with a great staff!!

We love this very small, unpretentious, Cuban cafe. During our many visits here for lunch and other times, we rarely hear any English spoken. The locals all seem to know about Playa Cafe and highly recommend various foods to us. The staff is very friendly, despite our limited Spanish. Very authentic Cuban food, from what I understand. Always delicious, and reasonably-priced. Simple presentation, yet great flavors. In the mornings, we love to stop by for coffee con leche and empanadas. Then we come back at lunch with the tough decisions of what to order from the truly Cuban offerings.

GREAT food. Would recommend it to anyone. If you like food homemade you will love this place. Small place small town feel. You set at the bar and enjoy anthemic Cuban food. We LOVE this place!

I real authentic lunch counter full of friendly people and attentive staff. I read the reviews before we went and I have to say that they do start the sandwiches in the microwave, but they do move them to the press for finishing off. We were there for dinner around 8pm and we did not order sandwiches. We got a chicken rice and a squid rice. one with platanos and one with salad. We also got a stuffed yuca and a tamale. We enjoyed the squid rice better than the chicken rice. The stuffed yuca was like a Syrian Kibbeh, but the minced meat was surrounded by mashed Yuca and fried, rather than bulger. The tamale was HUGE! but not very flavorful. All in all the food as plentiful and cheap and the ambience was totally friendly and fun, which is why it ended up with 4 starts (because the food itself is really only 3 stars.)
