Description: The Forge is one of South Florida's most legendary steakhouses, dating back to 1969 on Miami Beach. The award-winning restaurant is not your grandfather's steakhouse - although it once was. With its modern décor, ambiance and philosophy, The Forge has undergone a total makeover, the overall design and décor was executed by Francois Frossard. Walls of hand-carved blonde wood and antique mirrors, lilac and white crystal chandeliers, a wall of bubbles - are perfectly interspersed with the historical pieces that adorn the space. Every diner's seat is "the best in the house." The open floor plan of the 6,000-square-foot space allows guests to see and be seen. Executive Chef Julia Doyne presents a 65-item menu along with a delicious Dessert Menu. Finally, there's a labyrinth-like Wine Cellar with eight-rooms devoted to the rarest vintages in the world, and even a secret, lux private dining room, which seats up to 25 guests. The bar offers guest 64 Enomatic's wines by the ounce.

This was our first time at The Forge, but definitely not the last time. We made reservations for 6:30pm. When we arrived at 6:25pm, we were seated immediately in an almost empty dining area, which slowly and gradually filled to full capacity by 8pm. The service was impeccable, without reproach. I can't say enough positive things to convey our delight with the waiter and assistant waiters! The food was delicious, as well. For appetizers, we had the west coast oysters with a tropical mango sauce (fantastic) and the yellowfin tuna tartar (presentation and taste were extraordinary). Our entrees were the filet (done beautifully rare) and the rib eye (so big, my husband brought almost half home) and the desserts were souffles. Unfortunately, the souffles were over baked and dry. Next time we'll order a different dessert. This is a long-time established restaurant in the heart of Miami Beach that obviously prides itself on service and food quality. Looking forward to going back!

Welcome to The Forge family! We are so happy that you dined with us for the first time. It sounds like a wonderful evening, especially the service, cuisine and ambiance. We do apologize that the soufflés were overcooked. We are known for our soufflés, so we are sorry that you did not get to experience our signature dessert at its most deliciousness. My boyfriend and I were in Miami for vacation the first week of March. On Monday night, we had dinner at The Forge. It was an amazing experience from beginning to end. The restaurant has a beautiful, eclectic design. Ana Alvarez was our server, and she did a top-notch job. She was very professional, and when I asked her questions about the restaurant, she knew a lot of its history. After dinner, she even gave us a tour of the restaurant and took pictures of us. And the food was amazing! This is truly one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. I cannot say enough, and I would love to go back the next time we're in South Beach.

Well I made reservations for two and was impressed when we walked in. We were seated in the worst spot so we moved our table to the bar. The bar is wonderful for a drink or full dinner. We sat for a full dinner and were lucky to have the outstanding service of the bartender whom I believe is a star in the making in the "cuisine scene"- his name was Richard. He provided exceptional service, was knowledgeable on the menu, and staff. I was interested in "The Forge" because their Executive Chef is one of few female chefs and she did live up to her name. We had the tuna tartare which was very yummy (could be more acidic though) and the foie gras which was exceptional. It was a seared foie gras which I had never had before but was impressed, very impressed. I would say it is second only to Pao in SOBE. We then added on the duck breast for dinner which was perfectly cooked and very tasty. The edges are pastrami crusted which is unique but worth trying. Only order the duck breast if you are a filet person because it is very thick but tasty. We partnered that with the truffle mac and cheese pot which was truly a delight as well, a must order for a side. Finally we did their signature s'more dessert, it is a souffle` so it takes 45 minutes to prepare and is fresh and just so yummy. I would say the dinner was worth the $250 we paid (this included an affordable/tasty bottle of white wine). But most importantly, ask for Richard, the guy is a true pro and will be a star one day. I do not know Richard at all and this is my honest opinion.

Just had a stunning meal here last week. Everything--food, service, bar drinks, venue--was top notch. My steak was one of the best I have ever had and the Smores Souffle was whimsical as well as decadent. Come hungry and settle in for a delicious culinary journey.

The wine list is AWESOME! Had such a fun time reading the book they brought out to the table although it was hard to choose with so many excellent wines available. Luckily for my husband and I, their wines by the glass selection made choosing only one unnecessary--we were able to savor several different wines by the glass, all kept fresh and at perfect temperature by The Forge's state-of-the-art enomatic system.

And, although we came for the food and beverage, we received so much more. Like impeccable service from Captain Richard Delabat. Richard went above and beyond simply serving us a fantastic meal--he answered numerous questions about the history of the restaurant, the chandelier, and other things we were curious about. And, at the end of the meal, he offered to give us a tour of the restaurant! As infrequent visitors to Miami, we really had no idea about the building or what wonders it contains. Richard's enthusiastic explanations of each room, its antiques and purposes, etc., was the perfect ending to our magical evening.

The only downside: we don't live in Miami so we will not be able to come back for the live music, the Veuve Cliquot nights, the enomatic "pour your own" system, or the amazing food (at least on a regular basis). Would it be too decadent to move to a city just so you can eat at a restaurant on a regular basis?
