After lots of searching, reading reviews looking at maps, comparing room sizes and prices we decided on The Sagamore Hotel for our 40th Birthday Girls Weekend in South Beach. It is a very modern feeling location, sleek and artsy. So if you like that atmosphere this is a great choice. There were three of us on our trip so we stayed in the Ocean Front Bungalow which has two-stories and gave us the space we were looking for. Although not a ton of clothes storage.
Here were the highlights:
- The front desk ladies looked fabulous, knew their stuff and were very welcoming.
- The Concierge staff was knowledgeable, and gave solid recommendations even before we got there via email.
- Housekeeping was great with any request we had (and we had a few; extra hangers, an extra robe, utensils/plates). They had it to us within a very short time after we called.
- The bellmen were quick with the door and always friendly.
- The pool attendant was right on, and took good care of us.
- The hotel itself is classy and sleek, a cool place to check out if you are into art.
- The pillows were so comfortable, that I am actually tracking down the type of pillows they had so I can buy them for my home.
- The upstairs bed was also super comfy. The pull out downstairs was what you would expect from a pullout, in terms of comfort.
- With so many places to choose from in the South Beach area, the price, the amount of space we were getting and the location, were what made our final decision to stay at the Sagamore. That and the fact that someone from their staff took the time to respond to reviewers on TripAdvisor showed me they were serious about customer service.

A couple of negatives that we encountered:
- The one problem that stood out was the restaurant, the service was good but the food was average at best. This shouldn't deter you from staying here though since there are so many places to eat within a few blocks of the hotel.
- The music at the pool was a bit loud for me, but part of this is an attempt to drown out the National next door... I guess this is a common problem in this part of South Beach.

Dear Mhatz,

We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your 40th birthday celebration with us at Sagamore. We are so glad you liked your spacious ocean front bungalow.

We are especially thrilled at your praise of the pool attendant, front desk, concierges, housekeeping, and bellmen.

I will make sure to pass this on to the respective department heads so our employees can receive the recognition they have earned.

It is our goal each day to provide excellent service and are happy to hear we did just that.

We are sorry your experience at the restaurant was not excellent. We will soon have exciting news about a new restaurant and lounge experience.

We try our best to regulate the music level at the pool and are sorry it was too loud.

We will make sure to monitor it more closely to ensure a pleasant experience for all of our guests.

Thank you again very much for your invaluable feedback!

Please make sure to contact me personally on your next visit so I can ensure that you have a perfect getaway.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best Regards and I hope you have a wonderful 40th year.

We just returned from our stay at The Sagamore, The Art Hotel in Miami Beach Florida. The hotel was spectacular. We were provided fabulous service by EVERY member of the Sagamore Staff. Everyone was extremely pleasant and accommodating! The art in the hotel is very impressive and provided a great backdrop in conjunction with the clean, white and extremely chic decor! Even the music was fabulous. We relaxed by the pool each day and enjoyed the fabulous cuisine that was provided, as well as the beautiful ocean view just beyond their gates.

Some of our party even enjoyed Parasailing which was just steps away from the hotel. What a great adventure!

This is an excellent location-- close to all things South Beach. The Sagamore is a must see! We hope to return each year, at least!

in all fairness we made the booking at the last minute so maybe we didnt get the best room, although they did not seem too busy. the room was small and cramped, badly designed in the name of trendy. we found it to be expensive for what it was but then again the location is not cheap. the frosted glass in the bathroom door provides a nice frame for the show you are putting on when you go to the bathroom as it is almost clear! i think this hotel was obviously originally built as a party hotel. the reception staff need training in customer service, we turned up late after a long drive, perhaps not looking our best but the receptionist obviously thought we were beneath her and her hotel. we had breakfast in the hotel, the waitress was very nice and attentive, the food was decent.
on my next trip I will probably stay elsewhere.

Our room was spacious, clean, and pin drop quiet at night so we could sleep and be well rested for conference meetings at the Miami Convention Center. We chose this hotel because of both its close proximity to the Convention Center and only one block from Lincoln Road's restaurants and stores. The staff could not be nicer. The concierge was most helpful in supplying information on restaurants and activities. We were able to sign out a hotel laptop for one hour free of charge. Would definitely return for another stay at this hotel.

My first time in Miami, but with a partner who has been there 5/6 times and so she recommended the Sagamore, as it is much smaller and less 'coach party' feel about it tham some hotels in Miami.
We had a bungalow suite for 4 nights and it was great, as we had lots of room to lounge about, plus we were able to visit the Tequila party on our first night during the Food and Wine festival. That was very messy!
Highly recommend, as it is very boutique, but it does have style!
