Owner description: People watching is a great pastime in Miami's South Beach, which draws celebrities and beautiful people in skimpy swim attire to see and be seen. The wide and fine, white sand-covered beaches are popular spots for fashion photo shoots, so you're sure to see models. The area is known for its hip clubs and wild nightlife as well as numerous excellent restaurants.

Depends on when you go and if you enjoy crowds, but if you can get past that, the restaurants have great food and it's an experience you won't find anywhere else! I stayed several times up the north end at the Shelborne and loved it! It's kinda quiet compared to other places. Then we would taxi down to the heart of things at night. Make sure, if your not a college student on break, stay away when they are off break is my recommendation, other wise it's awesome!

“Your CSI Miami come to live!”
Reviewed 5 March 2012

South Beach is busy, trendy and very much like you wanted to be seen in. Very hip, modern, art deco style (which i love) Not cheap to hang out there as cafes and restaurants are much more pricey in the area.

The public beach is very crowded, and lots of jellyfish.I mean if you are there you have to go over to see and experience the true Miami style! It was overall fun.

“Something for Everyone”

You can't be in South Florida and not visit South Beach. There is plenty to eat and see for all ages. The beach is beautiful and it's a quant little village all on it's own. There is always something going on and great to meet and chat with people from all over the world.

Wow, so nice, miles of sandy beaches,
You can park your car nearby and hit the ocean directly,
The place is safe and friendly.
You'll enjoy definitely

“A great beach to spent the day”
Reviewed 3 March 2012

You can start ridding a bicycle (there are several you can rent with your credit card for the time you wish), there is a good trail by the beach, or you can jogging or walk in the beach. There is a long place you can do that. There is a starbucks in the end of ocean drive, so you can grab something and go (there are news papers to buy too).
You can go to the beach with your towel or rent a chair and an umbrella. The umbrella will cost you around $15. The chairs I don't know.
There are very nice and colorful lifeguard's cabinets.
There are lots of small places selling water, snacks and sunscreen if you need. There are some spots with water sports like run wavers, parasailing, etc. (not many, if you dont see any you can ask at the chair&umbrella rental because they can call them for you).
You have showers at beach entrance too, so if it gets to hot, you can take a showers ans just go to an esplanade in the ocean drive.
What upset me the most is there are some homeless around.
