We have stayed at this timeshare/former motor lodge attached to the Snook Inn every year since 2004. While the 1BR/1B rooms are small, they are clean, well managed and priced right.

In addition to the pool front rooms, MR&C offers is a fishing dock and inexpensive pontoon rentals to travel to nearby barrier islands for shelling or into Naples for lunch.

On an island where you can drop a thousand dollars per night, you can stay here for a whole week and enjoy what SW FL has to offer.

If you want some opulent hotel with over the top amenities, check out the JW Marriott (see the reference to $1000 per night).

Visited as an RCI member. Tiny basic apartment. Not suitable for 4.
Obviously little or no investment for a number of years
Wires hanging from old box TV
Pillows disgusting - had to go out and buy some
Reception unhelpful and unsmiling
Worst one we've stayed in in 16 years
Just don't even think about staying there

An old Motel converted into a resort. The check in was not the most welcoming, the guy was initially quite off putting, eventually we discovered he was quite nice but didn't smile a lot. The whole resort is small and very clean for its age - all areas indoor and out. The units are small particularly the living area. It's OK for two but four would find it uncomfortable and get in each others way, particularly when cooking. The appliances were also old but functional. We had to change apartments during our stay this seems quite common, presumably to accommodate the actual time share owners. One thing that always perturbs us in the States is that the time share owners who have bought a unit for a week seem to think that they own the whole place and persistently flout the resort rules making other folks uncomfortable - in this case adherence to the rules seem to be complaint driven. This was confirmed by one of the owners themselves. A good touch is free bikes for exploring the Island and the resort itself is quiet and comfortable dependent on the week and clientele. Our last week was beginning to be spoiled by some of the other guests being very rowdy, very late into the evening. Someone must have complained as it stopped 2 or 3 days in. The perpetrators seemed very perturbed about this for some reason. The Resort is next to the Snook Inn which is an added bonus. A good place to explore the Island from. If you want a quiet week avoid timeshare week 41!

We arrived at 4.50pm, the man who checked us in was in a hurry to get away, we had phoned to say we would be there around 5pm and he said not to worry, the key would be in the apartment. This was the only interaction with staff at the resort until we checked out and even then there weren't any pleasantries. The apartments are old, very tired, dated furnishings, the dishwasher and fridge were rusty on the inside. There was one chair and a sofa, the sofa doubled as a bed, thank goodness we didn't need to use it for that, sitting on it was more than enough, it was so dirty and stained I put a sheet over it rather than sit directly on it. The bedroom was small, the bathroom tiny. The bed was ok, the "wardrobe" was an alcove with a plastic consatena style door on it and 7 coat hangers. The whole apartment had a strange feeling of being on a slope, more felt in the bedroom and the walls are paper thin. In the living area was a locked door, we soon realised this was to the apartment next door and the noise coming from there was unbelievable! There is a laundry with 3 washers and 4 driers. There is a small swimming pool, more for recreation than swimming and it has a 10 person rule. We were definitely the odd ones out, 2 Brit's in a resort full of American's, the staff made no attempt to even smile at us or a simple hello, thankfully some of the other guests invited us to join them one evening, which was really nice. Will we be back, NO WAY, would we recommend NO WAY. This was a week on our 3 week vacation in Florida for my husbands 50th birthday, if we could have arranged alternative accommodation after arriving here we would have done, definitely spoilt the holiday

Room Tip: tip for a good room, go somewhere else!

Got room 211 for a week on a time-share exchange. Certainly, this is not the Hilton. The rooms are older but well-maintained with everything in working order. Loved the small ultra-clean pool, jacuzzi, and screened in porch. Excellent wi-fi- could even stream movies- you sure as heck don't get that at the Hilton in my experience. We met couple after couple who had been coming every year for decades. The only noise was music from the nearby Snook Inn, and it stops at 10 pm. A lovely stay if you want a quiet clean place to hang out by the pool and get some sun. We used it as a base to explore but several of our fellow guests only left the pool at night to get take out to eat by the water. They have a nice boat you can rent for $80 a day, too and bicycles and beach chairs to borrow. No complaints. Would come again, given the chance.

Room Tip: If you don't mind stairs, we liked the view from the 200 level.
