On our way to Tampa yesterday, we noticed that a new (to us) restaurant opened up,
and decided to give it a try on our way home, and am really glad we did. We were seated at
a table near the window, and enjoyed watching all the activities happening on the lake. Hubby had
the chicken fried steak, sweet potato fries and onion rings, and was very happy with
his choices. The onions were cut thicker than usual, and having been in the restaurant business
we knew the grease was fresh. I had the shrimp scampi, and have to say I've never had better.
The shrimp were a good size, meaty and not over-powered by too much garlic. It was served
with penne pasta and a wonderful buttery sauce that featured red onions that had been soaked
in lime juice which gave it a pickled flavor. Our waiter Connor was a delight...great service
and very nice personality. I was surprised to read all the negative reviews...a new restaurant always
has kinks that need to be worked out...give them another chance, I think you'll be happy you did.
