“hostile employees makes hostile guests”

The property is always adding on so there is no flow. The signage has you walk past the maintenance doors. There was always trash in the walkway.
The check in was long, you had to go from counter to counter.Of course it is lound and the employees either can't hear or don't listen to the guests. After you get your key, they set up a tour to sell you a time share. When I was set up I told the girl we where only in town for 48 hours. We had booked the shuttle from their desk and my husband and son where going g to Universal. Sandy said no problem, only takes an hour if I put express.I found out later big mistake..Also she wanted a refundable deposit,it seemed a lot for a breakfast.
After another desk find finally we got to the room.

My family went to the swan boats, while waiting a guest and employee whee arguing, then the guest went to another employee and argued with them. After a long wait we got on the boats.

The pools are ok,no towels at the pools, the pools show their age.The grounds have a new water park. I am confused about the admission. Some people where free and some cost$20.00.

When we went to the movie at the town hall, again guest and employee where arguing, then guest and guest. Also the flyer says they have snacks available also not true.

The train that runs around the grounds is hit or miss.So we walked to get pizza, again bad flow for walking. We ordered pizza and had a hard time trying to find a table.
The next day did the tour.We told the gentleman we had to get the shuttle at 9:20.We had a appt time of 8:00.So at 9:15my husband and son left to get the shuttle.I was then told tour over. And to go down stairs. Then I was called a lier, because Sandy didn't hear me when I told her about the shuttle. It took 10minutes of her and the man behind the counter before I could get my deposit back.

Sound like you bought the 2-3 days deal from the resort. That is why you have to go to the "timeshare sale" meeting. That is a contract you made when you purchased the deal, or you would not be able to get that good deal.

“We will not stay here again!”

We stayed for three nights through an Interval International exchange.

On arrival, we requested a unit with a patio or balcony, and were told, "No problem." There is a charge for internet access, which we think is highway robbery.

The unit we were sent to was not ready - not cleaned, dirty floor, broken slats from patio door blinds lying on the bed, sofa cushions were standing upright on the sofa which allowed us to see that it had not been cleaned under the cushions. Dirt in drawers. Back to check-in area.

Staff was reasonably apologetic and sent us to another unit. Unit #2 had no patio or balcony. Back to check-in area.

When we told the rep that the unit had no patio or balcony, his response was, "Really?"

When we arrived at unit #3, we were unable to unlock the door. The key card just would not work. Back to check-in area.

This time, they sent a porter with us. Turned out this was a lockout unit - two separate units with a common entry. The people in the other part of the unit had the deadbolt locked on the common entry door. (Couldn't the check-in people advise guests that they should not lock common access doors?) After the porter called someone who contacted these other guests, they unlocked the deadbolt and we were able to get in.

For our trouble, we were given two $25 vouchers to use on site, one of which covered internet service for only part of our stay.

The unit was a small one-bedroom in one of the 6-floor buildings, and was adequate for our needs, and was pretty nice with some upgrades. The patio was TINY but with large furniture (this makes NO sense!) The king bed was very comfortable, the shower was large, and the towels were much nicer than we expected. There was a patio off the bedroom with vertical blinds and a wooden cornice above. If you are taller than maybe 5'10", WATCH OUT or you will knock your head on it!! (My husband is 6'6".)

The sink in the bathroom would not drain - this was reported and remedied very quickly. The ice maker did not make ice - it instead made puddles of water on the kitchen floor. This was reported at the same time as the non-draining sink, but was NOT repaired during our 3-day stay, and we had to purchase ice from the little store on site.

The location is good for access to shopping, restaurants and, of course, Disney. There are lots of pools, and free shuttles to the Disney parks - but ONLY in the morning and at night. Meaning, you would have to stay at the parks all day.

This was not the first time we had stayed at this resort. The first time, there were also maintenance issues, and we had to call security late at night for what sounded like gunshots! (We DO know what gunshots sound like.) We thought we would try this resort once more, and actually stayed in a different area of the resort this time, but we will NOT go back!

We hope others will have better experiences.

“Not worth the money”

The property is nice; pics on web site are accurate. Check in was painfully slow - have to deal with "marketing" person. This complex is not handicap accessible. Pools were nice but COLD. Furniture at a couple of the pools were in need of replacing. And good luck trying to get on the train that supposedly circles the property every 20-minutes, plus it only runs 9am - 4pm. He passed us by 2x at the same stop.

“Comfortable, but the lack of housekeeping was a bit frustrating.”
Reviewed 2 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

I didn't appreciate being pressured/bribed to come to a 3.5 hrs for a "time-share" meeting after I'd already stressed how I was not available due to having a tight schedule/obligation to our local HS band that was on tour, since I was a chaperone helper of those students. It wasn't clear how housekeeping was to check on our room, the trash was never taken out until we did it ourselves at the end of our stay. It'd been nice to of had fresh towels at least once throughout the six days, of our stay because we ended up having to use the pool towels for bath towels. As a regular coffee drinker, only being provided enough grounds for two pots of coffee, was a disappointment especially when that's only enough for 2 out of 6 days. The so-called Wi-Fi that was offered was NOT secure; therefore, NOT practical. The Jacuzzi was a very nice touch & we made regular use of it after our very long days of outings. Having the washer/dryer and the fully equipped kitchen was also very nice. The overall of our stay was satisfactory, the few aforementioned areas that could use improvement, but I would still return for a future stay because I'm an optimist that believes these areas are not major ones, just areas needing improvement.

There is no obligation to attend the time-share sales meeting unless you want to eat the free food there since nothing would come free. If one eats the food, then it is a courtesy to listen to people who provide the food.

Great place to vacation with family and friends. Relaxing atmosphere, clean well kept resort, beautifully landscaped. My family and I will be vacationing at Westgate Resorts again.
