“Quiet and Relaxing”
Reviewed 19 February 2012

The Chesapeake Beach Resort gives you the feel that you're the only one there. All of the amenities...bottled water, kayaking, fitness center, pool, water bikes, etc. are included with your resort fee. Overall, my stay was very quiet and relaxing...recommend for those looking for a nice place without a high $$$ tag.

Room Tip: Rooms closest to the beach have the best view.

We stayed here for four nights in February and were really pleased with our choice. The rooms are very nice,we had one with a full kitchen which was great as we do not always want to go out to eat,and as fishing is one of our enjoyments we sometimes,as on this occasion, make a very nice dinner from what we catch!!

Facilities are very good, breakfast is included and so is the use of kayaks and small boats. The resort is right next to Whale Harbour with the Wahoo bar and full charter fishing facilities within easy reach.

Staff are very pleasant and the whole place has a really friendly and pleasant atmosphere.

Room Tip: The rooms are generally good but we had a ground floor "efficiency" which was lovely.

We stayed for a few days in this nice beach resort and had a spacious room with sea view. Our wing of the hotel was at an angle to the sea so we had morning sun and had a good overview of about half the property, including the beach hut (with lots of equipment for use by the guests, most of them complimentary). The rooms were nice and clean.
This hotel boasts two swimming pools, one in the front of the hotel, between the hotel and the beach and the other one on the side of the hotel. This gives an attractive choice if you feel that there are too many people in one pool area or if they are too noisy. There is also a hot tub / jaccuzy which we liked, except for those times when the water in there was simply unbearably hot (we didn't find out why it sometimes was too hot).
The entire setting is really nice and you have a true beach access to the sea where you can walk on sand into the water. There are many beach loungers available to take a sun bath, but unfortunately all of them are without padded covers which would definitely be needed because the loungers are otherwise very unconfortably hard to sit/lie on (the metal rods under the lounger fabric are extremely close under the fabric).
Unfortunately the coffee service table was located only near the reception desk so it was a bit cumbersome to help yourself with coffee during the day at the beach.
But in general we were happy with our stay in this hotel. It was also nice to have an outdoor facility for the breakfast.

We are writing this post from the balcony of this beautiful family-owned resort and taking in a sweeping view of the Atlantic Ocean. This property is not only great for couples and families, it's also a terrific venue for weddings, and special events. Room blocks are available for groups and there's a cool tiki hut area for parties (in fact they're setting up for a small wedding right now) They also have all kinds of water sports right on premises (we're taking out a sunfish this afternoon) as well as a tennis court, two pools and a sportfishing charter. Even though we live in the Keys, we use the Chesapeake as our own little get-away and especially love staying in the waterfront one bedroom suites that have nice bed linens, double balconies, a separate jacuzzi in the bedroom, large living room and kitchen area. The resort also has very cute, pet friendly cottages with Kitchenettes and you can enjoy a hot breakfast every morning in the "Islamorada Room" which serves up scrambled eggs, sausage, cereals, fresh fruit, pastries, yogurt, etc. Assistant manager Debbie Pearson, front desk manager Will and Caser along with the entire housekeeping staff are always so nice and accommodating. They make our stays here all the more enjoyable and are one of the reasons we keep returning to this little piece of paradise. Time to go sailing.....

Room Tip: The waterfront one bedroom suites are the way to go.

Oceanfront property was well taken care of by a very friendly staff. Pools were warm and very clean; included watersport boats and kayaks were in good condition. Atmosphere and grounds were restful and beautiful. We stayed in one of the resort's villas. EVERYTHING at this resort made for a wonderful anniversary for my husband and I. Thank You Chesapeake Beach

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the ocean
