We were looking for red meat at lunch time after two weeks of wonderful seafood on various Florida Keys. This was our second visit the last being a dinner engagement some five or six years ago. The impression then was lack luster thus the long interval, but we kept hearing that it was a good bar and restaurant now. Wait service was good though a bit slow for no apparent reason since we were well past the lunch rush. We ordered burgers and fries. We got the Rochester Burger. The fries were your basic garden variety spicy fries but the burger was on a roll with a ground beef patty that had been smashed paper thin on the flat top, then had a very unpleasant weirdly spice ground sausage or beef on it with a scant amount of cheese and nothing else. In a word awful. Horrible spice choices for beef. We had intended to go to Zane Grays for their key lime pie which is absolutely awesome but let the waitress talk us into their "Key Lime Pie". After the burger horrible we ordered only one slice of pie to share and were put off at first taste. It was like an aged too long in the frig crumbly, gritty cheesecake/custard filling in consistency and had only the vaguest of lime flavor. Winn Dixie and Publix have frozen key lime pies that are better than this twaddle. In baseball you get three strikes and your out. In this case two gags and they are not only out, but off our roster for life! Never again! Beware the turtle.
