“Quiet Oasis”
Reviewed 21 February 2012

The Key West Garden Club took over the upkeep of the Martello Tower & the club representative gives you a quick overview of the property and also a re-usable map of the property while you are walking around. There are rooms within the tower that house various types of foliage & flora that are beautiful. My favorite were the orchids.
Once you step outside, it's such a peaceful garden area that it's easy to wander around and get immersed in the calm surroundings. The gazebo at the highest point of the property is quaint and beautiful.
It's not a tour that will take long, but while you are there it's quite enjoyable. Be sure to leave a donation on your way out the door.

It is small, but very interesting. Worth the fifteen minutes.

“Quiet Key West Oasis”
Reviewed 19 February 2012

This is a beautiful garden in an old, partially-constructed, fort that is kept up by the Key West Garden Club. It's cool and quiet and has some lovely views. Best of all, it's free.

“A small oasis”
Reviewed 16 February 2012

Lovingly maintained by garden club volunteers, this beautiful garden and former fort overlooking the beach provided a quiet sanctuary after the din and activity of Key West. The nooks and crannies of crumbling fort architecture accented by subtropical plants and flowers provide some extra delights for the amateur photographer.

“Nice gardens”
Reviewed 14 February 2012

The gardens surounding an old civil war fort were quite nice, and walking around them was very peaceful.
