My husband and I have been to Key West at least 6 different times and after each visit , we seem to talk incessantly about a particular restaurant that we " discovered " ! Yesterday we discovered Blossoms on White Street. It's delightful hostess is Shannon and her husband Jose is the incredible chef. We had lunch which consisted of the BEST gumbo we have ever experienced ( including visits to New Orleans) and the best mufaletto sandwich ( and possibly the largest!) We split it and still had enough to take with us which we sliced later and shared it for a delightful Happy Hour with chilled white wine. Jose makes his own mufaletto bread. We decided to go back this morning for breakfast and we weren't disappointed. My husband loved his Cuban cheese bread layered with his choices from a variety of toppings! I had bacon wrapped grilled Key West large shrimp served over the creamiest cheese grits ever!! Even the coffee is delicious ( Cuban or American) . You will not be disappointed with your must do experience at this fantastic restaurant! It is off the beaten path which is another reason we sought it out! And don't forget to say H-E-L-L-O to Skittles, the aptly named gorgeous macaw residing on the porch! We can't wait to say Hello again!
