Just went on a snorkling trip here! It was great. Fan corral, sharks, turtles and fish galore!

I went on two snorkeling trips and the second one that went to the Western Dry Rocks was much better than Sand Key. Most of the trips go to Sand Key, but our boat, KW Bone Island Sunset Watersports went further and provided a better experience.

The water... it is indeed blue - we went out to a place where it was 100 ft - most places around there the water averages between 6 to 30 feet - for miles and miles - you would never guess, as you look out toward the horizon, that as far as you can see the water stays at those depths - but we went out to a place where it drops off to 100 ft. They call it Western Dry. When you look into the 100 ft deep water you see this deep blue like nothing you have ever seen. Then, here comes a big stingray swimming under the boat... "Mike, there is something huge in the water..." "Robbie, that is not necessarily a GOOD thing..." then all around we hear the splashing of "cero mackeral" chasing little 2" long bait fish - we are in the middle of a feeding frenzy - you hear the splashing and look and there are hundreds of 2" bait fish leaping into the air to escape the mackeral and the mackeral are flying through the air in pursuit - 3 or 4 mackeral visible in the air at a time... birds circle overhead to pick up the leftovers - about 15 yards off the nose of the boat, a big sea turtle is lumbering about on a brief visit to the surface - his back is covered with brightly colored parasites looking like a colorful jacket draped over his 3 foot wide turtle shoulders - carefully dropping our bait down the underwater bank of coral and rock we pull up Yellow Tail Snappers, Grunts, Mutton, Trigger fish - flipping a silver spoon lure into the middle of the mackeral feeding frenzy we pull in a couple 14" Cero Mackerals - bait fish spill out of the mackerals' mouths as we unhook them and throw them back into the waters which are teaming with life as if we had set anchor in eden itself!! one word comes to mind... ABUNDANCE

Fun fun fun - I can't help but to think about how awesome God is to have created all this - and how awesome my big bro is to bring me out here to see it - Western Dry...
