“Great Little Museum ”

Military Museum of North Florida
Attraction details

The size of this place is deceptive. It is chock full of gems! Nicely organized from the Seminole Wars through to Iraq conflict. Lots to see and talk about. The Marine volunteer and the Royal Marine curator were awesome and so helpful. The site is on the old airfield near the shipyard. So much history! No admission is charged, but they depend on donations to survive...so please donate generously. Even my teenage son enjoyed it.

Totally enjoy this free museum. The curator there was a gentleman who had been through World war II from England. He was very very knowledgeable
Many of the things on display in the World War II section or actually from his childhood and parents. This is a long forgotten area were at one time during the war they were almost 20,000 people living here and every ship for the US Military was built here it is important to preserve this area and to hear about its history.

This place is a gem. It is very small but there is so much inside...We particularly enjoyed the models. My three year old enjoyed the vehicles outside. You are taken through a guided tour with an excellent guide. They need more volunteers to stay open. Admission is donation only, but be generous because they depend on it!

LOCATED ON THE WW2 NAVY BASE NAAS LEE FIELD, later NAAS GREEN COVE SPRINGS, it's both an indoor and outdoor museum. View both and enjoy the adjacent port facilities and rail lines.
A combination training base during WW2 ships could be loaded nearby as well as freight moving into the base.

A small but awesome museum on the grounds of the old naval station there in Green Cove Springs. It was cool to read about the base and how active it was duribg World War II. Also liked the how the museum was laid out to where you start reading about early military conflicts at the front and worked your way through history. Spent about 45 minutes there. Free admission but donations are always appreciated.
