A friend and I stayed at this hotel for two nights. Hotel was great, spa services were great. A big complaint though was regarding privacy of the bathrooms. The bathroom in our room had a sliding door (no lock) which was kindof like shutters and also had a window in the bathroom into the rest of the hotel room which also had these weird shutters - felt very open. We had never seen anything like it and actually would go out of our way to use the public restrooms rather than use the bathroom in the hotel room! I would not stay in a room like this again - if you're staying by yourself though, it's great! (We stayed at the W Fort Lauderdale the next couple nights and found that the bathrooms were somewhat similar in their lack of privacy - perhaps this is a Fort Lauderdale thing?)

Our pre-cruise stay at the Westin Beach Resort For Lauderdale was good, but not great. I had stayed at this property in past when it was the Sheraton, so I was hoping that our stay was, as good or better as the last.

Our reservation was booked through Hotwire, but they do not allow you to select your room or bed type. This meant that we ended with a room with one king bed for three people, as there were no rooms with two beds available. When checking in I thought the clerk gave us a room with two beds. I found this to not be case after returning from a late dinner. In any event they brought us up a rollaway bed that surprisingly was fairly comfortable.

Our room on the fourth floor of north tower was not very big, nor did it have the best view. It however did have a very comfortable king bed, as well as desk, and flat screen TV. The bathroom was also fairly small, but did have a nice shower (no tub).

As for the rest of the hotel it was very nice. The employees were also very friendly despite the problems mentioned above. Everyone one of them stopped to say hi and ask about my day.

In addition to items listed above this hotel had easy beach access, a Starbucks, and nice pool.

In conclusion despite the problems we had with not getting a room with two beds our stay was good, especially for the price I paid on Hotwire. I would also consider staying at this hotel, even if at higher price.

The room had a great view of pool and beach and was extremely clean. The service by all the staff was always top quality. The pool attendants were especially nice. There is a lot going on right around the corner from the Westin but the area immediately surrounding the hotel is very quiet which is a PLUS. The restaurant and in-room dining also serve good food. I would suggest you do not dine @ the Cafe del Mar because it is overpriced and does not have the greatest service.

Room Tip: if you cannot get an ocean view, try for a partial view.

Just returned from 4 glorious days at the Westin Beach. From the moment we arrived, service from the staff at the hotel was 5 star. Everyone I spoke to was friendly, attentive and always asking if we were ok. Very much appreciated on vacation. Upon arrival as a starwood member, we were upgraded to an oceanfront view, double beds, overlooking the pool. Breathtaking views of ocean, just wished the window opened more for an ocean breeze or a balcony would have been on our wish list.
Pros of Room: Beds were very comfy, flat screen a nice touch, maid service perfect
Cons: Bathroom - lack of privacy. Prefer a door that locks and perhaps, fan in bathroom.

Pool is perfect temperature, drinks and food are a bit pricey, but it's OK, since it was all so delicious!

Gym was nice and starbucks was an added treat. Other than that, we strolled over to CVS a few times for things we needed.

We will be back. Had an amazing time and lucked at with perfect weather!

Room Tip: We stayed right next to elevator and didn't hear any noise.
