We stayed here for a long weekend reunion. The room was spacious and quaint. The patio was perfect for visiting with friends, and the nearby Green Turtle Inn was a fun place to enjoy live music. Breakfast was delicious every morning. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. It was an ideal place for a reunion.

If you're a light sleeper, I'd recommend a room that faces the courtyard, rather than one near the Green Turtle Inn.

This hotel is in an old building – it’s on the National Register of Historic Places. The building and the grounds (that is, the courtyard behind the hotel) are beautiful – no question.
I’ve been to Fernandina many times, so I’m familiar with this place, although I had never stayed there. So I knew going in that it’s old, and it’s literally within spitting distance of the Green Turtle Bar, so outside noise could be a problem. I was willing to deal with that, since it was the only room available in the village that night.
I was in Room 11, on the second floor, in the back, overlooking the courtyard. The room was laughably small – “cell” might be a more apt description than “room”. Also, even though there was a ceiling fan running constantly and a vent for central air conditioning, the room was pretty warm when I checked in in mid-afternoon.
All of this I could overlook, given the age of the building. However, there was almost no hot water in the shower on Saturday morning! I was up about 8:30 a.m. and I had not heard any water running, so I don’t think the issue was other guests beating me to the punch. I also let the water run for several minutes, but it got no warmer. So I had a bracing shower that morning.
When I checked out, I mentioned the lack of hot water to the staff. They suggested I needed to let the water run for a while, or that maybe other guests had “used up” the hot water. They did seem genuinely apologetic about it, but that was it.

In addition to the lack of hot water, I would caution against staying here after about April because of the seeming lack of climate control. I simply can’t imagine how hot that room must get during the summer months….

What a great find of a place to stay in Fernandina Beach. We rented the bridal suite for our anniversary and our was wonderful. From the view from purr balcony to the large courtyard, every part of it was comfort. The owner Karen was especially nice and made sure we were enjoying our stay. Ashley our Mermaid Bar Bartender was also a big plus as her personality was like being at a family members home. We loved the place and hope to go back there and stay again soon. Thank you! Ronny and Deanne.

Visiting during Spring Break. 12 of us came for brunch and sat in the outside patio. They offer unlimited Mimosa's and/or Bloody Mary's and they are excellent. The food was delicious - almost everyone ordered something different, and no one was disappointed. They don't try to rush you at all. The setting is spectacular. I highly recommend this location for brunch or just a great drink at the bar. I think this review will be listed as one for the hotel. I don't know about the hotel, just the restaurant and bar.
