stayed in a studio unit fully furnished, king size bed. beautiful location on the water, beautiful decor, ultra clean, quiet and comfy, huge lcd tv, great ceiling fan, balcony, tiki bar, music, food. across the street from eddie's bar & grill, live music, good food, family atmosphere.

Room Tip: 4th floor would probably be the best.

My wife and I stayed at the Beso Del Sol in March during Spring Training for the Blue Jays and the Phillies. We rented a one bedroom suite facing the water. The room was recently remodeled and it showed. Granite tops, new shower, very nice. We had room 331 on the end close to the elevator. The hot tub was right below us but all of the guests were great and we had no problem with noise. The staff was nice and very helpful with directions and one occasion one of the maintenance guys helped me out when I needed a bike pump to inflate my tires,
The internet was spotty early on and when I asked the manager what was going on he was already aware of the problem and had his technician on the job. He told me he was not going to let the tech go home until we had Wi Fi up and running. Later that day we were good to go.
Beautiful sunsets, great bike trail a block away, great restaurants within walking distance. Who could ask for more. I would definitely stay at the Beso Del Sol again.

Suggestions to those who choose to book a room. I am not positive but some of the rooms are still owned by third party owners and Beso maintains them. I asked for a room that was owned by the resort and was very happy. Also if you drive and have the room in your vehicle, bring your own bike. There are only so many bikes available and they are only one speed and a bit used.

Also, the hotel has rules about glass containers at the pool and alcohol but if you make a drink in your room and use a plastic cup, you will be fine. And it is a lot cheaper than drinking at the Marker Tiki Bar. Their drinks were good (not too cheap) but I would rather spend my money on other things while on vacation.
Speaking of Marker, they have a restaurant on the fourth floor of the building next door and the breakfasts are super great and very reasonable. My wife had the shrimp and grits two days in a row and I had the Mexican Omelet both days! Both meals with coffee set us back less than $20.00. And again the people that worked there were so nice.
In town, for those who enjoy a good micro brew, the Dunedin Brewery is a good bet. Good pub grub and a great selection of beers. For Mexican go to Casa Tia. Jolli Mons Grill was great for Happy Hour with reduced prices and $2.00 Coronas.
We were only there for a few short days and would like to explore more places to eat… Maybe in 2013

Room Tip: Get a room with a water view...Worth the extra $$$. Bring your own food and drink to save $$$ too

We love to see our Blue Jays and Phillies fans return every year for spring training! Glad you enjoyed your stay and the great breakfasts at Marker 8. Thanks for letting others know about our complimentary bikes and close proximity to restaurants and beaches.

We spent one night there and liked it enough to stay another night. The suite was very comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. We would like to return to Dunedin. It is a nice town and the beaches are lovely.

This is a clean, remodeled condo/hotel. It is located on St. Joseph sound with beautiful views to Caladesi Island (directly west) and Clearwater Beach (south west). There are a couple of docks to moor at if you have a boat, but I don't think you can launch from here.
The rooms we stayed in were right above the Tiki Bar (we were worried about that at first, but it was not an issue as the bar is strictly closed at 10 p.m., and the clientele were very sedate.)
Our rooms were about 15' square, but included a kitchenette with granite countertops and an apartment sized refrigerator. Everything was freshly and tastefully redecorated. The bathroom was very small, but clean and modern. There is a laundry room on site with only 2 washer/dryers.
There are two pools and a hot tub with umbrella tables interspersed between them. The tiki bar area is a little dirty and worn looking. (They need to separate out the bar from the "service" area a little better). We had drinks for happy hour one night and they were very generous with the alcohol which might justify the high prices. It was very relaxing to sit at the tables and watch the sunset over Caladesi Island.
A few downers: the first night we were awakened in the middle of the night several times by a broken fire alarm. Everyone in the place jumped out of bed and ran to the balconies while the Dunedin Fire Department checked the alarm. This happened five (!) times in one night. I think that the age of the building is showing, but to the management's credit they got the alarm fixed the next day and the problem didn't reoccur. Also, they will provide towels for the pool area, but you have to "check" them out. When we left we returned the towels, but then a few days later a $30 charge showed up on our credit card. When I called, the manager said it was because we did not return the towels. He did promise to remove the charge when I told him I had returned the towels the day we left. (You might want to make sure you get a return receipt for the pool towels when you return them!) Also, don't expect to use the wireless network in your room. Despite trying several times and calling the front desk, neither my iPad nor my son's laptop could ever connect. They do mention that the building's structure prevents good wireless reception and they suggest you come to the Tiki Bar area or the office to connect.
Overall, you can tell that the management of this place is trying hard to make things clean and comfortable. There are a few amenities that might seem a little strange or amateurish, but the price is right and this place is comfortable and clean.
On our last day we had breakfast at the 4th floor restaurant and enjoyed the breezes and view. The food was pretty good as well, but nothing extraordinary. Still it was worth doing.

Room Tip: Choose a room facing St. Joseph sound for beautiful sunsets and views of the pools.

Thanks for your comments. We're glad you enjoyed your stay and we apologize for the problem with the fire alarm and the pool towel charge. We determined that a fire alarm pull station had become corroded due to the waterfront environment. It has since been replaced- again sorry for the disturbance. We appreciate you bringing the pool towel charge to our attention and we apologize for the error. You'll be glad to know that the tiki bar is being relocated and newly built on a new deck between the north and south building. We hope you'll come back and see us again soon.
