Overall it was a great experience. Wonderfully helpful staff, clean condo, nice pool area, fun bar and restaurant onsite. A couple of problems led me to give it only 4 stars: the internet did not work in our condo - altho the staff tried hard to fix it including giving us an ethernet cord and sending someone to try to get us up and running. Our laptop worked for about 20 minutes once and that was it. I heard you could get on the net at the pool or in the office. Didn't try it so don't know for sure. We were offered their computers in the office to use - but if you need to have access to the net on your trip - beware. The towels were awful - I would suggest you bring your own. Kitchen was passable - again the staff did all they could to get us the items we needed, even offered to bring some from home. Our beds were very comfortable - we didn't have the issues others did. The 2 bedroom condo had plenty of living space. One thing it did not have is closet space - again- be aware of this when you pack. Pool area was fun - the shots at sunset great. Dunedin was a nice town - the resort is on the Pinellas Trail - a wonderful easy walking trail that goes for miles. Beaches close by, short drive away.

We stayed in a condo at Beso del Sol in Dunedin, FL for a week at the end of October 2011. It was even better than we expected. The 1 bedroom condo was very nicely done, clean and updated. There were bikes to use and one of the staff members even let us borrow his fishing pole to catch fish off the dock! All of the staff members were very friendly and helpful. The Tiki Bar was nice and people seemed to have a great time there at happy hour. Even though we aren't into that, we had a nice time sitting at the pool and in the jacuzzi listening to the live music. We played golf nearby, went to the beach and visited the wonderful downtown area of Dunedin. Beso del Sol is walking distance to downtown. It's also across the street from the Pinellas bike trail so wonderful to walk or bike there. It was a great week and a great place to stay.

Beware if you are planning to stay here. The photos shown are from the penthouse and not the room you'll be awarded on your arrival. For the cost £286 for two nights I was extremely disappointed with the size of the accomodation. The main room bed continually creaked and the pull out bed was very uncomfortable with springs felt to the touch - without laying on it. The main room was 6 of my paces x 41/2 paces(i'm 5'11") the bedroom was roughly the same size. Children are not allowed to attend the Tikki Bar or indeed even the side of the decking the bar is located or the pool on that side. Out of 4 rental bikes 3 were un-roadworthy which ended up with ather long walk back....

If you're considering coming here dig deep an check it's what you want............

We liked most everything about Beso Del Sol...except as the title suggests...the BED.

We had a pleasant experience arranging the rental of this efficiency unit directly with the owner...a real nice guy...very helpful.
The location of Beso Del Sol was fine for our needs, which included the following:
1) Golf at Dunedin Country Club - 5 mins away
2) Visit to Honeymoon & Caladesi Islands - <10 mins away
3) Touring the old downtown shops area - <10 mins away
4) Getting unexpected car repairs - <10 mins away
5) Motoring up to check out Tarpon Springs - 20 mins away
6) Riding the 40 mile long bike trail - access 5 mins away

Check in was smooth & easy - we got in a couple hours early which worked out great for transferring cooler food/drink into fridge. Efficiency is small (~16 x 16), clean & well outfitted with all kitchen & bathroom necessities.
Entry to rooms is along front jigsaw shaped walkway, an odd configuration that affords some privacy from neighbors but hinders quick egress. Our unit on the 2nd floor North side overlooked (in the rear) a row of shoddy neglected homes, hiding beneath the shadows of massive threatening tree limbs. On the uninviting rear balcony, through these trees we had a small rectangular view of the bay.
The bathroom was good size & layout with a 2 person sized shower. Bathroom caulking was in rough shape & one piece of floor molding was broken. Shower water temperature varied wildly from 60 to 120 degrees; was finally able to get it stabilized around a chilly 80 with much fiddling. No exhaust fan in bathroom.
No noise from neighbors was noted through walls or from above...very nice. No sounds from main road (Alt 19) or traffic in driveway below...more nice sprinkles.
The tiki bar & pool areas were in pretty good shape; decent and ample outdoor furniture (on a Monday night anyway). Pool water wasn't cleanest, just used adjacent shower before & after swimming...rest rooms right next to pool were in good shape. Great sunset viewing free sunset shots from tiki bar. No food served from bar, however they have menus available for local food deliveries...we brought our own food from room. Bikes available at office for free use for 3 hours for guests.

Now to the bed...a dreadful slab that felt more like sleeping on the rack, waking both of us every 30 minutes or so to reposition, all through the 3 nights we stayed. Sides, shoulders and spines aching, we decided to forego our 4th night on the rack and head home early.

Parking was perfect, located directly under the 2nd floor units, in the shade & away from the blazing sun.
Check-out also smooth & easy, with a curious inquiry as to why we were leaving early, was there a problem...
A note on cleanliness: Inside a 3+, outside a 2 (common areas: hallways, stairways, balcony, elevator) - average is a weak 3.
PS - we didn't do bike ride...it was way too hot; single-speed bikes were in good shape - well maintained & looked fairly new.

Room Tip: Check the bed/mattress situation with unit owner

As a condo-hotel resort all of our units are privately owned and are not all managed by the onsite management co. As you rented directly from the owner the management cannot take responsibility for the condition of the bed. Sorry you were uncomfortable - we would love to accomodate you in one of our beautifully appointed
, professionally managed units in the future. The view of the adjacent privately owned property is currently being upgraded by a major renovation including removal of several poor trees which greatly enhances the view of the Gulf. Hope to se you again soon.

This hotel is awesome. The rooms and layout are quaint, comfortable and the staff is amazing. I will definitely stay here again. The staff saw our party size (2+ 3 kids) and wanted to upgrade us for an unbelievably reasonable fee. Definitely beats the other hotel's further south and is near the most amazing beach.
