Where in the world could you have such an excellent breakfast with ocean view and pelicans flying by? Where do you have a private little beach where the Key deer kindly greet you? Where is there a triangular fairy-tale little house with formidable hosptiality? Its the Barnacle B&B!!We highly recommend this astonishing place.(Theo and Ellen, november 2016)

Barnacle B&B is a most amazing serene spot to fully enjoy the water. It is the perfect private get-away where you can stargaze on the roof, eat on the balcony over-looking the water or go right down to the beach and wander along or sit in the swing with only nature as your company. The room is a lot of fun with interesting nooks and crannies stocked with everything you could possibly need. The host went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and accommodated. I highly recommend it!

Room Tip: A non-traditional, unique, wonderful and private place to stay, and have a delicious breakfast. Just beautiful!

Interesting venue in a beautiful and quiet location. Right on a private beach. Key deer walk by constantly while you sit in the lounge chairs. Eclectic, rustic, interesting and fun. We saw a fire dance, used their kayaks to check out the mangroves, and relaxed in a restful, quiet location.

This has been a wonderful place to stay. Big pine key is much quieter than either end of the keys and the barnacle has been the perfect peaceful getaway. We stayed in the separate treehouse type room. It is very different but comfortable...the bathroom is a bit strange, but functional. The view of the water is wonderful with chairs on the roof to stargaze. There is a grill and hammock, umbrellas and chairs, bikes and kayaks all for your use. We took the kayak out on the canal out into the key at sunset and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Gorgeous. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. It really has been a wonderful stay. Thank you!

First of all, don't pay attention if their facebook page says this business is not operating anymore. Not only it IS operating, but it's an almost-perfect spot in paradise: by the ocean, surrounded by astonishing nature (you will see more key deer there than in the Key Deer Refuge!), with kayaks and bikes at your disposition, a great hot tub where you can watch the storms over the waters... So many unforgettable memories collected in this place! Tim has lots of amazing stories to tell, and he and his wife Jane were the best hosts! I would give this 5 stars, or 6, or 7, except for the annoying little bugs that we got at night since the windows are not sealed. This is the (small) price to pay if you want to be surrounded by nature in this amazing spot. From now on, one of our favorite corners in the Keys!

Room Tip: Just three rooms, all of them are great!
