We are a group of six 50-something ladies that regularly attend Theaterworks in Hartford. We like to go to either a Saturday or Sunday matinee, so we can go out to dinner after and talk about the play. We just got back from a phenomenal meal!! We tried 2 different appetizers (multiple orders of each) --the Fig and gorgonzola flatbread and lemon swordfish served over red quinoa were truly delicious. Five ladies in the group got the divers scallops (4 scallops served with a roasted brussel sprout side) and I chose the blackened duck served with an espresso sauce with a delicious corn side. Everything was cooked perfectly!!!! We shared 3 desserts: A chocolate bread pudding, a raspberry tartlet and the "Elvis" (vanilla ice cream with peanut butter, banana and BACON). Although they recently got their liquor license, they still allow you to bring your own wine. Half our party went for the mixed drinks and half brought our own wine. They were very accommodating, bringing a separate bar bill in addition to the food bill. Because it is located in the heart of the Elizabeth Park's rose garden, we are already planning on going their after our next theater get-together in June.
