Description: Nestled on the pond in historic Elizabeth Park the Pond House is surrounded by gardens & offers four seasons of charm with a menu to match. Changed seasonally we offer eclectic comfort food that reflects the down to earth but playful spirit of our staff. Watch young skaters on the pond while savoring a hearty winter stew. Announce Spring's arrival with a walk through the park followed by brunch on the patio. Stop and smell the world famous roses then linger over dinner as sun slowly sets over the trees. Lunch, Dinner, Brunch & Take out. The Pond House - stylish, fun & playful.

We are a group of six 50-something ladies that regularly attend Theaterworks in Hartford. We like to go to either a Saturday or Sunday matinee, so we can go out to dinner after and talk about the play. We just got back from a phenomenal meal!! We tried 2 different appetizers (multiple orders of each) --the Fig and gorgonzola flatbread and lemon swordfish served over red quinoa were truly delicious. Five ladies in the group got the divers scallops (4 scallops served with a roasted brussel sprout side) and I chose the blackened duck served with an espresso sauce with a delicious corn side. Everything was cooked perfectly!!!! We shared 3 desserts: A chocolate bread pudding, a raspberry tartlet and the "Elvis" (vanilla ice cream with peanut butter, banana and BACON). Although they recently got their liquor license, they still allow you to bring your own wine. Half our party went for the mixed drinks and half brought our own wine. They were very accommodating, bringing a separate bar bill in addition to the food bill. Because it is located in the heart of the Elizabeth Park's rose garden, we are already planning on going their after our next theater get-together in June.

My girlfriends and I met up at the Pond House Cafe for a late brunch. We arrived early and had an opportunity to walk around the beautifully kept grounds at Elizabeth Park. Our reservation was ready promptly. Our brunches were each amazing. They have a number of eggs benedict options with all sorts of interesting pairings. One of my friends had an apple and brie omelette. Everything we ordered was delicious. For dessert we decided to go all out and have four of the six or seven options. The sweet potato gnocchi was fabulous-- really creative. The pumpkin cheesecake was really good too, as was the espresso chocolate cake. The Veil of Vanilla dessert, though it sounded good, was somewhat disappointing, but that was the only thing we didn't like.

We sat for almost two hours straight and nobody bothered us or rushed us. Our water and drink glasses were always filled. A beautiful location with great food and great service!

Located within Elizabeth Park, the outdoor patio overlooks the pond, nice place to take a date, have a great meal, and perhaps enjoy a stroll through the rose garden (summertime)..

Recently I celebrated my birthday with 14 friends at the long table in the restaurant. The wait staff was prompt, courteous, and friendly. The food was fabulous from appetizers to dessert! And, everyone could bring their own favorite wine - wonderful time for all, especially me, the birthday girl(60 and still a girl)!!!
