You can't beat the atmosphere- it was the first sunny weekend, nice patio, overlooking the river, very relaxed, enjoyable. Place wasn't full, waitress very friendly, so was the owner who came over to chat with us. The menu was clam bake with lobster, exactly what we were looking for. We'll be back!

Well band was there so $5 per person to come in, than $10 food minimum on a Saturday.

Chicken, corn, and potatoes was equal to the $10. Food was good but no thrills menu! Great for BYOB

Location is beautiful but hot on a warm night! Dogs allowed so that's cool! Great place to meet and hang out w friends if drinking!

My boyfriend and I popped in at The Riverview over a year ago and enjoyed it so much we decided to bring his daughter last weekend for a great experience. Oh boy, do thiings change in a year. There is no denying that the location is great. Wonderful deck seating right on the Housatonic. It's a BYOB which is great considering the relaxed atmosphere. That was the only thing that was the same. Last time, there was a nice selection of items, this time only a couple of choices. We ordered a "Lobsterbake" and a "Rib bake". Each of the items named, came with an array of large clams, mussels, corn on the cob, boiled potatoes and BBQ chicken. The amount of food was not the issue. $39 for each "bake" seemed very fair for the large amount of food. BUT...aside from the lobster (which was cooked to perfection) I have nothing else good to say. The clams were huge (which I don't mind) but they were cooked to the "rubber" stage. It was a good workout for the jaw. The mussels were void of any flavor at all, as were the ribs (the biggest outrage). They were large and meaty and if I had to guess, I would say they were boiled. They not only lacked any sauce (we had to ask for BBQ)...they lacked pork flavor. The flavor must have been boiled right out of them. Having to dip them into the tiny side cup of bbq was just useless. We also had to ask for butter and lemon for the shellfish. Our waitress, Amy, who was sweet and lovely tried to accomodate us but only showed up with the melted butter, telling us they didn't have lemons. How do you serve lobster and clams without the essential lemon? The chix had flavor but was incredibly dry, and the corn and potatoes aren't even worth mentioning as they had no flavor either. Last time we were there the 2 musicians played for an hour at a time. This time they would play 2 songs, take a break, play 2 more...another break. The "band" should not have even been mentioned on the roadside sign for the amount of time they played. We left, taking our many many leftovers with us (we only ate the lobster and a couple of clams) because I hate waste. I threw them out for the raccoons and even they wouldn't eat the mussels, corn or potatoes. My suggestion would be to go with a cooler full of beer and wine and just order the lobster individually for $25. Save your money and don't order anything else. You will love the scenic locale and have a 5 star experience.

It's on a deck overlooking the river, not far from the Stevenson Dam. Gorgeous. Comfortable picnic/outdoor furniture seating. Gorgeous setting. Practically empty on a Friday night. Food is cheap and really good. Not mind-blowing but as a whole experience we love coming here. Pulled pork is delish, banana pudding dessert yummy. BYOB, they provide solo cups LOL. Very laid back, the owner said people bring coolers with their own cheese and crackers and other munchies (they don't have much in the way of appetizers). Owner and waitstaff very personable and attentive. Sometimes live music. One time we were there a guy was playing the guitar and singing, badly. But that sort of added to the ambience for us. It's a beautiful setting. I'm so surprised it's not busier. So I almost hesitate to write this review!!

Had dinner there last night and the food was great and reasonable. The wait staff were good, Kaleigh couldn't have been more attentive or pleasant. Had a great London Broil and baked potato, partner had Grilled Tuna, both delicious. Just a fun place for an event or family and friends. Will definitely go back.
