We booked a double room online with breakfast via e-bookers, but on arrival were given a twin room and told breakfast was only available if you booked direct with the hotel. The owner said it happens all the time - maybe I'm being cynical, but I guess he hasn't done anything because he can then charge more... We also asked about changing our room for a double and he went through an elaborate process of checking his computer before politely informing us there were none left, but we went on line and checked the hotel's website, and guess what? Yep, double rooms available... We didn't complain further because there would have been very little point - instead we paid for just one breakfast there (which was very good) and spent our time and money elsewhere. The place was pleasant, airy and shaded, rooms were okay but no sea view and there's very little to do in Vagia - we walked up the hill to the church, walked to the Temple of Aphaia from where we caught the bus to the main town and ate every evening at the village's one restaurant doing any trade, down on the beach (very nice - see separate review).

Room Tip: Book direct with hotel

Well... It seems you still do not know what you have actually booked so for the third time we will inform you and the rest of the readers. e.bookers is an afilliate of booking.com or expedia and the room you have booked had a preference of booking with a double bed or two single ones. The key word here is preference...
Further on it is not our fault it is the channels fault that does not inform properly so once more we will.

Breakfast is included only in direct bookings! Should you wish to have the best breakfast, you should ofcourse buy it like all the other customers and customers that come from other hotels just to enjoy our breakfast.

Thank you for your kind words about the breakfast though. This breakfast that you had was offered to you from us free. Bet you forgot to mention it. (Cynical?)

Lies just to offend us and harm us will certainly not help you have a good time on your vacations. You stayed in room 21 with a superb sea view and you actually aknoweledged that you prefer to sleep seperately with your husband so what changed your mind now?

We do give the best rooms to the people that book directly with us. True. The room was booked for the next day probably for a direct customer.

Thank you so much for visiting us though and for taking the time to write such a nice review.

Thank you.

A truly magical experience!!! <3 <3 <3
Beautiful fresh rooms with a majestic view.It takes two minutes to reach a mermaid's sea coast.Every day you eat a king's breakfast in a elf garden.Truly Mrs. Maria should start a school especially for breakfast. All freshly baked pies filled with all the best feta cheese, mushrooms fresh jams, homemade bread and to top it all orange and peach pie which elevates the soul.
Honestly it was my first time in Aegina it was supposed to be a short weekend with a girlfriend just relaxing on a beach.
The hospitality of vagia hotel exceeds all the best of Greece real hospitality, hearty rooms and traditional food. Her son Notis is a true sweetheart too I had forgot a ring and he sent it straight away with the post wrapped in fresh flowers from their garden.
I have been telling all my friends and I have already booked my next holiday in this fairy kissed place!!!

The hotel is a true oasis and every room has this typical Greek traditional charm. Notis was an overwhelmingly nice host and the homemade food is absolutely delicious! The location is a bit isolated so hard to get around without a vehicle (we rented bikes, but be prepared because it's hilly! ). Great value for whatis it offers...

Never have experienced hospitality like this, Gardens full of flowers and hosts so full of smiles. All the best from UK!

Room Tip: every night they serve a traditional dish... dont even think about missing it.

View - lovely. bougainvillea - gorgeous. Breakfasts - fabulous. Hosts - made us feel very welcome. Decor - authentic and interesting. Food on evening - simple Greek meals but excellent quality and freshly made. Relaxing atmosphere .
A thoroughly relaxing 4 nights spent in this lovely family run hotel. Everything that I like and more. Would definitively go back and am recommending to friends.
A peaceful and quiet area . Perfect for couples who want to be away from the crowds.
Small beaches, a few mins walk away . Snorkeled everyday. A few tavernas nearby each serving good quality inexpensive food

we found this hotel on our trip through the island. It is a small very familiar and chilling atmosphere in the shade of lots of trees. Allover there are nice places to rest, drink a coffe and spent your time in loudless surroundings. Somethimg quite special is the breakfast ! You wil find every morning a tabel full of homemade cakes, marmelade, bread and salty stuff. Already in the early morning the smell is wandering through the hotel.
A very nice an familiar hotel I would book again a soon I'm visiting Aegina again.
