The Spot is the original Pepe's. Tourists will wait hours to get into the main Pepe's not realizing The Spot was the first Pepe's and still using the original ovens. I like the intimate atmosphere of the Spot compared to the main restaurant. The Spot is located in the rear of the main Pepe's.Go; you will not regret it. Fabulous pizza.

The pizza is the same great Pepe's, thin crust and brick oven and the same toppings and pies are available. Though smaller than the restaurant, the workers move people through v ery quickly. They will take orders from those waiting and when you get in, your pie is ready to be delivered to your table. Parking can be an issue and the Spot does a great take out business!

We went to Frank's after a day trip to New Haven. Got there about 5pm on a Saturday. Got right in and ordered our pizza and split a salad. The salad (only thing on the menu besides pizza) was very good, fresh veggies and a nice oil/vinegar house style dressing hit the spot. The pizza reminded me of Sally's... HOWEVER... the service at Frank's was far, far superior. Waitress got our order in right away, got the salad and ginger ale served and pizza came about 15-20 minutes later. Perfect. Very good experience with the family. Go early though, there was a nice line at the door by the time we left after 6.

Everyone seems to think that next door is the original Pepe's (I guess b/c they have that cool sign) but this is the birthplace of the legend. Pepe's never fails to deliver amazing pizza at a respectable price (to get quality ingredients it's worth a few extra bucks).

I know lots of people who, like me, didn't really like their pizza the first time they tried it, but by the second trip you're in love. So it goes.

Everything they make is recommendation-worthy but the fresh tomato pie in the summer is the cream of the crop.

On a road trip with the family and I always wanted to try this place...saw this pizzeria on the show Pizza Paradise and as per Tripadvisor...it is only a few minutes off Interstates 95 and 91. You have to ask for mozzarella on the pizza(??) and the sauce can use a little salt but the crust was great. Service was friendly.... soda in an 8 oz glass is $1. I am a thin crust pizza fanatic and this made my top 10 but not my top 5.
