It had been years since we last went to East Side for a meal and we regretted that we let so much time go by. We met friends for lunch and we had a lot of catching up to do. East Side during the week was a perfect choice. The dining room, even thought fairly full, allowed for good conversation. I do not know what the restaurant is like at night, but from what the server told us, it must to hopping and a lot of fun. The food is great. They have a lunch special priced at $20.17, which might see a bit steep, but the meal includes soup, salad, a small appetizer, a huge entree and a dessert. Everything was wonderful: the chicken cutlet, the pork cutlet, the bratwurst and knockwurst, the spaetzel, potato pancakes, mashed potatoes, soup, salad and strudel. The atmosphere is fun, charming and tasteful. The ceiling of the main dining room is lined with glass mugs. Striking! Waitstaff is knowledgeable, welcoming and willing to allow for substitutions. We will return soon.
