I felt like having Indian food so I decided to stop by Cumin for an early dinner.

After looking at their menu, I chose the goat biryani ($14) with a spice level of 4 of 5.

The dish came about 15 minutes in a large bowl of the rice dish with pieces of goat.

It tasted very good with the right amount of a spicy kick to it. Unfortunately, the goat was not very tender with almost half inedible with tough gristle and bones.

Maybe a different dish would have been a better choice.

Food is generally pretty good. Friendly service. Food is a bit bland even when we asked to have it "hot"

Sadly our go-to Indian restaurant, in West Haven, closed a few years ago, and we've visited a number of other spots in the greater New Haven area looking for a reliable alternative. Cumin is our current favorite: it always tastes freshly made, and each dish has its own signature spices. There can be a sizable difference between "medium" and "hot," depending somewhat on who's in the kitchen that night and what you've ordered. The prices are good and the quality is high, plus they deliver to a wide area: you can't ask for much more than this. Cumin is in a former IHOP, but once you're inside you'll forget all about that.

Went here for lunch and we were promptly seated and asked if we wanted Naan and we did. We then got our lunches from the buffet and shortly after getting back to the table our Naan arrived. The food was nice and hot but sort of bland for my taste buds.
The service was good and they were always checking to see if our water needed a refill and also brought us another Naan

Just an average lunch Have had much better buffets at multiple places
