Loved our stay at this resort. Great location nearly on the slope (5 min walk), friendly staff, clean facility, and comfortable rooms. Checked in on my birthday and the staff went out of their way to send a small snack basket to our room. Excellent attention to details. Will be back

Vail Marriott is in Lionshead area just 5 min walk to Eagle Bahn gondola, very conveniently located. We stayed the last weekend of Vail ski season, so rates are very reasonable ~$400 compare to peak season which is 3x more. Staff is very attentive and friendly, it's full service resort which is part of your $40 resort fee which included ski valet where they bring your ski to the gondola area and back to the hotel in the afternoon, no carrying of skis! This also included an afternoon snack of hot chocolate and smore's - my kids really enjoyed it! And don't forget the valet parking for $50.

The one thing we wish is that, they have bigger beds. How can a family resort have 2 double beds. And it's not just Vail Marriott, it's all Marriott resort unfortunately.

Definitely recommended!

Another blah Marriott.
Bad:
- not very clean
- has the charm of an airport with unimaginative decor
- not really ski-in/out
- ridiculously overpriced for what you get
- typical American hotel that doesn't include nor offer decent breakfast or dinner
- pool is a joke, no sauna/steam room

Good:
- close enough to ski lifts
- rooms big enough for families
- beds and pillows are comfy

Stayed: March 2018

Loved this resort, unfortunately, there was minimal snow & they only had 1 lift open on the mountain. Luckily, for the 1st time ever we did not stay in the Village. This side of the mountain was nice, Still had shops close by. The bus stop was right out front of the Resort, they do have a car that will take you close by, based on availability,
They had 2 hot tubs (outdoors) but always had a cover over, once we removed & then placed the cover on by ourselves (which was a pain) another time to get to the outside hot tube, it was locked, we called for someone to unlock it. He uncovered the pool & said it was suppose to be done from open to close. Also would have loved to use the outside pool, but always covered, I would guess to hold in heat, I am sure they would have opened it up, but seemed like too much trouble.
The staff was amazing, Ben at the front desk, made sure our stay was perfect. Thanks Ben for all your help. At check in, your greeted with a local beer, they have taps right behind them.
They have fixing to make smores in the late after noon.
They have a ski storage area. We arrived late & they took our skis right away from us, but never mentioned about the boots, they do have boot storage too.
The guys will walk your skis to the base of the mountain for you, as well as back. Which is nice, but you can take them yourself too.
We had a room over looking the mountain, which could have been beautilful if is was snow covered. The room was large and really had a ton of storage, Under the bed had drawers too.
The entry had hooks-great idea, you can place your ski coats & pants on & bins to place your other ski items in, So many times you stay at hotels & there is no place to set these items.
The only down side I has to my stay there (besides too short) was; we were at the very end of the hall, Great room, but it shared a door, once open there was 2 room doors to different rooms, This was extremely loud, on multiple occasions the children in the room next door made so much noise, slamming the doors, it seemed like there was 4 of them, each having to make 2 doors slam. A flaw of the design. Good thing they were not early risers.

We were quickly greeted by the Car Valet. Check In was swift and efficient. We did not like our room and we contacted the Front Desk and they immediately upgraded our room.. No questions asked. Our Skis are kept by the Ski Valet and are dropped off at the base of the Eagle Bahn Gondola every morning. Our boots were kept at a sports store inside the Marriott. The walk each day the Gondola was about 100 yards just past the Arrabelle Hotel. The hotel lobby is pleasant and a bar / restaurant is just off to the side. It had a nice fireplace and plenty of Tv's. The restaurant could use a few more nasi. appetizers and basic entrees. There is a Starbucks on the 2nd floor for morning snacks or they had a full restaurant with a buffet. Housekeeping was good and timely. The pool and hot tub were perfect in the 20-40 degree temps. They also have a fitness center which looked good but we did not use it. Every employee was friendly and even greeted our Service Animal. We had no issues for the 2 weeks we were there. Beware.. We already knew of the $50 daily car valet service due to lack of parking in town. You get what you pay for and we liked what we got. First Class Service. See you next year!
