On first blush this hotel may appear expensive. Trust me you get what you pay for. The Juniper rom is lovely with a cozy seating area and fireplace. Housekeeping keep the place ship shape. All staff members are friendly and extremely helpful. The buffet breakfast is excellent. And the monthly wine tasting dinner is a must do. The owner is visible and attentive. The spa facilities are
superlative and the therapists professional, friendy and all really well trained. Really, quite wonderful

Stayed here for a weekend with friends to go skiing. This is an unsual hotel with a traditional Apline feel...rigth in the middle of Colarado.

It's very well equipped hotel with absolutely superb rooms. Mine was a suite with everything you would expect from a five star hotel. Slight grumble is the hot air heating (I had the fantastic, glass fronted gas fire on overnight instead) Also, the bar closes too early (around 10:30pm) but apart from that, everything else was faultless. Great service from a superb breakfast and the evening restaurant serves up a great menu - including some brilliant steak and sea food dishes. The pool, outside spa/hot tub and inside spa are great. The hotel is located less than five minutes walk from the slopes and the hotel has a good deal with a ski rental shop almost right at the foot of the slopes. The store will 'valet' your skis and boots overnight - this makes it so much easier to get on and off the slopes to make the most of your time. Very highly recommended as hotel in a stunning location, with great facilties and exceptional service.

I have been to this hotel two years in a row, staying in late November and will be returning again in 2012. Although not a small hotel it retains a very cosy and intimate feel. The staff are polite and helpful and the rooms very comfortable. The only downside i would point out is the cost of parking your vehicle at the hotel. Having spent two weeks in numerous hotels in Colorado during the holiday, this was the only one that charged.

Room Tip: choose a double and not a suite. The suite we stayed in didn't appear to be any bigger than the...

I appreciate your comment about parking charges. Parking is at a premium in Vail Village. While there is cost associated with parking in our heated garage, I hope the benefit of being located in the heart of the pedestrian village and not having to use your car during your stay in Vail offsets this additional expense.
Thanks again.

I brought a group from China to visit Vail and booked them at the Sonnenalp. The reservations staff was very easy to work with and called a couple of times in advance of our stay to see if we needed anything. The check-in process was simple, as they already had the room keys assigned and ready to handout upon our arrival. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The cookies with the turndown service are delicious. The bathroom is very large and the heated floor a welcome treat on cold winter nights. I was disappointed I didn't have time to take a bath the oversized tub. A few people in the group were struggling with altitude sickness and appreciated the oxygen bar located in the spa.

I love staying at the Sonnelap - it's a beautiful tucked away resort right in the heart of Vail Village! Walking distance to everything! The rooms are more than generous, and the bathrooms are lovely - huge soaking tubs. Perfect for the winter!

My favorite spot in the hotel is lobby bar - they have entertainers most evenings, and the cozy decor and candlelight is so romantic! Breakfast in the atrium is amazing, but very pricey - be warned!

From check-in to check out, the service at this hotel is outstanding, you won't be disappointed with anyone you interact with. One of my favorite Vail spots!

Room Tip: Every room is fantastic - the Junior Suites are amazing!

Thank you for your visit and review.
I will take a look at our breakfast pricing. Perhaps a lower price option for the smaller appetitie should be offered in addition the european hot and cold buffet. Most of our guest choose the bed and breakfast package which is intended to provided excellent breakfast value.
Thank you for the suggestion.
