Our explore of Vail and its back bowls ended with a late lunch . The Two Elk is ideal with great views and great location on the far left of ski area after a full session in the back bowls .
What better than epic burger and fries to restock the energy . Good quality food and nice décor inside to eat

2 Elk is enormous but even on a busy day you can get your food and drinks and get back out there as quick as you want. Food choice range is great, burgers, soups, pizza, wraps etc, and some fine craft beer on tap. All freshly cooked in front of you at the food stations.
On a spring trip, sit outside and enjoy the sun and spectacular views.. We went there most days on our 11 day trip.

Two Elk lodge has a beautiful view and is a great mountain top place to stop for lunch while skiing. The place is huge but it is amazing how quickly it fills up during lunchtime - try to either get there early or have a late lunch. It's worth it to work around the noon lunch hour. The food is pretty typical fare - burgers, pizza, soups, but there are a couple of things that stand out including the buffalo chili and the burritos. The burritos are big enough to share, too. It's also a great place to get recharged - both by using the cell phone charging station as well as taking advantage of the water stations to get rehydrated.

We recently spent 7 days skiing at Vail, starting on a Saturday. We learnt the hard way that this is a really popular place, best avoided between 11 am and 2pm on weekends because it is extremely busy. Food is reasonable tasty, but expensive - small pizza is around $15 and soup around $14.
We went back at 11:30 on the Tuesday ie midweek and easily got a spot to sit. There were still spots available at 12.
A must visit when you ski at Vail, but not really worthy of a repeat visit in my opinion.
