We rented a two bedroom, six person condo. It is on the third floor, so quiet with no noise from surrounding units and has a great view of the mountains. The spa is nice, but small for those traveling in big groups. Rental unit is clean and staff is friendly. The kitchen is small, but is useful. This is a nice condo to spend New Year's at.

I swapped a week here via RCI and then rented a few more days. It really is close enough to walk to the slopes. It's very small for my family of 5, however we were very comfortable. All in All very good option for accommodation when Skiing. There is onsite parking and roads and parking are cleared regularly of snow.

Extremely small kitchen but we managed to cook from scratch a complete 18 pound turkey dinner. No cans allowed. 5 adults a 2, 3 and 5 yr young spent 3 nights. The kitchen was adequally equipped and better than hotel normal linens and towels. The staff more than accommodated our needs w/extra towels for the 5-star hottub and sauna. Steamboat is a beautiful town!!!

We stayed here on our Bluegreen points. It was the only daily rental we could get centrally located so our kids that live out here could visit. Nice 2 bedroom with a view of the ski area. No air conditioning! It was pretty warm the 1st night but ok after that. It does cool off pretty well at night.

We booked a two-bedroom unit for a week of skiing using a travel club membership because we couldn't pass up the price (about half what we've previously paid for a one bedroom unit closer to the slopes). The tradeoff is that, while the unit is on the city bus route, the nearest bus stop is up the hill and around the corner, which is a bit of a chore in ski boots, carrying your skis.

Otherwise, there was little to complain about. This is clearly an older building, but it our unit was clean and well maintained. We had all the basic tools we needed in the kitchen to prepare our meals, and everything seemed to be in working order. We didn't use the hot tub or the sauna but saw plenty of other guests using them, as well as the pool table.

We stayed on the first floor, which allowed us to bring our luggage in and out through the sliding doors at the back, so we didn't need to schlep them up and down the stairs through the lobby. We found that three pairs of skis and poles would fit in a single locker in the locker room, but only barely. However, the two bedroom unit (which can sleep six) comes with keys for two lockers, so this shouldn't be a problem.

If you aren't on the first floor, be prepared to climb stairs because their is no elevator. However, the units seem to be reasonably well sound insulated. We sometimes could hear people walking around in the unit above us, but it wasn't intrusive, and we never heard any other noise from the other units. On evening, there was a somewhat noisy group in the hot tub, right outside the unit, which was clearly audible in the living room area at the front of the unit, but when we went to bed, you couldn't hear it in the bedrooms.

For the most part, the staff was friendly and helpful, though there was one man who worked the desk who was decidedly unhelpful, unwilling to even look to see if there was a sewing kit available or answer questions. Otherwise, we had no complaints about the staff.

Next year, we will have to see how much it will cost to avoid the hike to a bus stop. Whether we stay here again will depend entirely on the price difference.

Room Tip: If you can get a unit on the first floor, you can avoid carrying your luggage up and down the stairs!
