Owner description: Roosevelt National Park offers many and varied opportunities for recreation. You can do most anything, from hunting to nordic skiing. For winter activities, a choice location is, despite its unpropitious name, Deadman Road near Redfeather Lakes.

While visiting Denver we were able to spend a day sightseeing in the Roosevelt National Forest. We took the scenic route and drove through the forest in a jeep; we considered this a mild off-road adventure. Nevertheless we had a blast and were able to begin to appreciate the beauty of Colorado on the first day of our visit.

Pleasant and expansive national forest with scenic views of the Continental Divide. Great way to spend the day. Lots of hiking trails, picnic areas, campgrounds, and other facilities, though these may get crowded by late morning, especially in the Brainard Lake area along the Indian Peaks. Definitely reserve campsites, they fill up quickly. Plenty of wildlife to see too, along with several scenic drives. Close to Fort Collins and Boulder.

Followed a hand drawn map , so got a bit confused some times but apart from the dirt sections, ice & snow packed areas , had a pleasant drive in the forest !! Thank god it was a Jeep that worked ! The highlight for me was coming across the two Moose feeding at Dusk ! Pity my camera isn't better !!

A great day trip, driving Thur the National Forest, looking at all of the beautiful landscapes, a lots of great photos opportunity. Hoping to see some wildlife but was driving Thur during the mid-day hours, the best time for wildlife is early morning or late afternoon hours . A great drive with places to stop and take in the scenery.

My husband and I were driving through the forest to and from Estes park. It was a very pleasant drive to get to Estes, and we decided to take our time driving through on our way back home. There are a couple of areas, where you can pull off the side of the road and check out Big Thompson river. We only found areas the had catch and release for fishing, but it was fun to watch them dart around in the current.
