Last day in Grand Junction, my wife spent it exploring this small town with the really cute walking/shopping downtown street with sculptures on every corner! Lunch at Cafe Sol—all fresh, all local & all pretty fabulous sounding! She ordered a salad with roasted beets, goat cheese, pepper toasted walnuts, apples, frizzy lettuce & BANANA BREAD CROUTONS!!

They do have covered outside seating in front. Garage parking available in the back. Soups change daily.

Their salads are super fresh and super delicious. You can get 2 different sizes, with the larger size plenty bug enough to share. Theur sandwiches are great too.

Price point for their entire menu is quite reasonable too !

After visiting Colorado National Monument we had a late lunch at Café Sol on Main Street in Grand Junction. Metered parking is available on the adjacent side streets. We got there at 2:30 PM, they close at 3:30. Café Sol basically serves salad and paninis, with a few appetizers and desserts as well. The salads can be ordered large or small. My wife had the small Tony Danza salad which is tuna salad on a bed of greens, spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives and quinoa. I had the small Wild West salad; romaine lettuce, black beans, guacamole, red onions, cheddar cheese, and crispy tortilla strips. The small salad is plenty for lunch. We also got a couple 7 layer bars, much like a Dollie Madison cake cookie. These salads were delicious and this was a great lunch. Order at the counter and they bring the food; help yourself to tea or flavored water.

Our 13-member group is traveling across the state for work in an R/V for one week. This spot was like an oasis for us. Arriving at 11:30, we beat the crazy lunch rush. (Line out the door!) Amazing variety of homemade salads, soups and paninis. Large salads are huge! I ate a half salad and half panini and didn’t even take a bite of the panini but am saving for dinner; even the half salad was large. Fresh mixed greens, roasted beets, prosciutto, sunflower seeds, Dijon/Sherry dressing and Parmesan cheese shavings. The inventor of this salad is genius! I would eat their house-whipped butter smeared on a tire, it is so delicious. The glass pitchers of water infused with lemons, limes and herbs was welcome on a 90+ day. To a one, we all enjoyed our food.

Cute place - Went for breakfast. Fun paintings on the wall and good music. Order at the counter, self serve coffee. They bring your meal to you. Two of us shared Chiaquiles - Very basic. Just a bunch of chips and cheese with peppers and two fried eggs on it. Basically tasteless. I would not return unless they jazz up the food!
