This home was clean, comfortable and beautiful environment. John and Michelle were attentive incredibly gracious and helpful in offering suggestions on where to eat. In fact John created a map on which roads to travel for an amazing experience. The dogs were gentle and well behaved. Fun to watch them run and play. Did I mention this home was SPOTLESS. Breakfast was delicious and well planned. We were happy to receive Mimosas with breakfast to toast our anniversary. After our adventures in the area,so happy to return to this beautiful home.

Elk Run is a quaint B&B a quick 10 minute ride into the heart of Evergreen. There are 2 bedrooms (with private bathrooms), a living area including kitchen and dining table. Rooms are well appointed and clean. Bathrooms are not en suite, but are directly outside your room and can be locked- the B&B provides bathrobes for those who might want to be covered when walking from room to bathroom. Plush towels, shampoo, conditioner, bath gel and lotions are provided.

Rooms have their own private entrance and there are a few outdoor areas to enjoy (including with heat lamps for those chilly evenings). Breakfast is prepared in the morning- and is delicious! Coffees, teas and juices are stocked. Like many B&Bs, be prepared to get to know other guests. During breakfast you will all enjoy conversation around one table.

The owner has dogs who are very sweet and will visit in the morning. However, they were very well behaved and did not beg for food even as we ate breakfast. For most of our time there, the dogs were kept upstairs in the owners part of the home if that is a concern.

Overall, great experience and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.

John and Michelle provide excellent service in a comfortable laid back environment. The rooms have all of the amenities you would need. The rooms have a luxury feel and the private bathrooms were very very clean. The bath robes are way comfy too. The inn is not far off the main road but you still get the backcountry feel with stores etc. just a short drive away. We really appreciated the accommodating service for our breakfasts - we named the time with the option of being served on the top deck or in the dining area in the lounge. The library in the lounge has some very good reads with coffee/tea/hot choc service 24/7. Zoey and Lucy are priceless! Just a really cool place! We were there for three nights and were sad to leave. A tremendous price value in the beautiful CO mountains.

Room tip: Go with friends and book both rooms

Michelle and John are wonderful hosts who have set aside a portion of their home for a very comfortable stay. Our room was spotlessly clean with an exceptional bed. The bathroom was across the hall but still private and well-appointed. The common area is cozy and comfortable, and the breakfasts basic but more than sufficient for getting you on with your day. When you choose to linger, you'll enjoy the beautiful grounds.

Best of all, though, are the hosts. These are just good people you'll like immediately and will come to appreciate more as you get to know them. In all, very highly recommended.

Room tip: There are just two rooms here, equally nice.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights during our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect. Elk Run is surrounded by nature and some of the most beautiful scenic drives through the small town. Michelle and John are extremely helpful and accommodating, and Zoey, their Great Dane is so sweet. Michelle made us breakfast every morning and even packed a breakfast for us when we left at 5am to go mountain biking one morning! The bed was so comfortable it was like sleeping on a cloud. Really everything was great.
