Entrance to rooms were located on the outside of the hotel, which made for easy entrance. Courtyard was nice and clean. Enjoyed using hot tub/jacuzzi and pool. Rooms were clean. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Glad to have laundry room on location. I would have given a 5, but it was misleading that microwave and fridge were listed as included. You are charged $20 extra to have these amenities for your stay.

We hear that a lot in regards to the perfect location. We enjoy the river at our back yard with all the rafting and such and the the Train just steps away !

We are very proud of our Staff and I will be sure to let them know your kind words !

Needs to be updated not worth the price. I wish we would shelled out the 40 extra and stayed at the Straiter down town. The back side borders the river walk. A lot of people have easy acess to you outside. I saw no security. 160 a night 60 to much.

Room Tip: Stay at the Straiter downtown

I have been going to Durango for 20 years, and stayed at this hotel several times . For $200 a night, it is definitely overpriced. While it is close to the center of town, it needs some serious renovation, as it's showing its age. It also lacks some common features, like a continental breakfast and mini fridge in the room, which you'd expect for this price.
Our room was dirty (someone did come up to wash off the door, which was splattered with 'something sticky'); The bathroom door would not close, and the light over the sink worked intermittently.

We stayed here one night over the 4th of July weekend.
Positives: pet-friendly rooms, Applebees on site, right on Animas river and next to river walk, clean rooms aside from a large red stain on the carpet, friendly staff, easy walk to the downtown - good location for walking to places, close to Albertsons and City Market
Negatives: Overpriced, needs updating, saw hobos and drunks near Applebees and in hotel parking lot, people didn't clean up after their pets in pet area (not hotel's fault really), no elevator and no luggage carts so we had to lug all of our heavy luggage up the staircase and down to our room located in the middle of a long line of rooms, loud road noise for non-river facing rooms. Barely a continental breakfast. They had granola bars, coffee and oatmeal packets.

Also watch out on the river walk. Angry bicyclist will be mad if you don't run out of their way when walking on the river walk. I don't know why they call it a river walk, when the cyclists overrun it.

I'll be staying a the much nicer Doubletree down the street next time.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the river side. Much quieter.

Conveniently located in downtown Durango, the Durango Downtown Inn was the perfect choice for our stay. Friendly staff, clean rooms and quiet :)
There is an Applebee's next door and a several other restaurants within walking distance. Highly recommended!
