I went to Jelly U with some colleagues for breakfast recently. I had not been there before, and surely had a great meal. We all did. It is right by DU on Evans, actually just across the street from the first ever original Chipolte in the previous spot of the first ever Tokyo Joes. There are two bar like seating areas and a bunch of tables.
The menu is varied, some traditional breakfast items, some gluten free options and some options unique to this place.
They also have doughnut holes which are very popular, we saw many people have them with their breakfasts, we did not imbibe though.
I had corned beef hash and eggs which was really good. Tasty and kind of like the dish I grew up with and have sought out in Denver but have not found until now. A nice sized portion with two eggs on top also.
Others had a benedict which he liked and a basic egg plate which she liked too.
Service was friendly and efficient, with staff working hard to stay ahead of the food coming out. One food runner worked well.
Seating when we got there was a little odd. The bar seats and the seats by the one North window were still controlled by the Host and were not open seating, that was fine except the hots the day we were there was not paying attention and several times people unknowingly sat at an empty bar stool and the host either missed it or ignored it but other times he asked people to move that tried to sit there, it just was inconsistent and frankly not very fair for those of us waiting for a table on the list.
I would go back, perhaps not on a busy Saturday morning though...
