The Hideaway is a luxurious, spacious hotel. The grand entrance. The privacy of the rooms. The fine dining. Tucked away in the rain forest having a cup of coffee with the sounds and smells is amazing. Visited in Sept.2018 room 22. One small detail; there is mold growing on the walls and behind the toilet roll. So hideaway if you're reading this: please be wary!!

Room Tip: Traveled off season so the prices are reasonable...weather conditions wasn't as rainy as some sites say it is

The location is stunning, enjoying a cup of coffee and listen to nature sounds from your own room varanda is such a relaxing experience. First I will say if a could have given more then 5/5 I would have, I have travelled the world and this hotel is in one of my top 5.
The rooms are beautiful and BIG, our room had a four poster bed, sofa, big wardrobe, double sinks, large walk in shower and a outside shower, also a large veranda. You can take walks into the rainforest and it's just pure beauty. Food at the hotel is excellent.
Would highly recommend, Many thanks

Dear 303chrissie,

Wow! we love your review, to be rated beyond the scale is incredible! and being part of your top 5 is even better! We put attention on every single detail (that is the reason why our hotel is great). As you mentioned to walk into the rainforest in our private reserve El Tapir is a prefect way to enjoy its pure beauty. Our chef designed a new menu recently, we hope you had the chance to try any of the new dishes, if not come back soon, we promise you the new menu is twice as tasty as the last one.

Tropical warm regards!

This is no joke one of the coolest and most beautiful places I have ever been to. From the moment we pulled up to the lobby we were blown away! The property is gorgeous and surrounded by nature. We were greeted with a tropical drink in the lobby which is beautiful...the koi pond in the middle with open roof was the perfect spot for breakfast each morning. Our room was unbelievable...see monkeys swinging through the tree while in the outdoor shower was an experience I will never forget! The hotel does an awesome job coordinating day trips to Rio Celeste which we went on and would highly recommend. The trail directly behind the hotel has a yoga platform in the middle of the jungle and the trail ends at the crazy teal blue river. We saw sloths, monkeys, owls and countless exotic birds all while on the property! We also decided to get massages while here at the small spa...it was one of the best massages I have ever had! Would definitely go back!

Dear JanetMacht,

What an honor to be featured as one of the coolest and most beautiful places you have ever been too. Our priviliged location inmersed in the tropical rainforest, allowes our hotel to be a paradise. When desingning the hotel every detail was well thought (outdor shower, koi pond and balconies that allow you to admire the flora and fauna while drinking coffee from your room). It is always a pleasure to assist our guest to coordinate tours and let them see more of our beautiful country, Caño Negro Wildlife Refugee, Maleku Indigenous Reserve, Venado Caves and the Hanging Bridges are just some of the many options!
All of us well be so happy to welcome you again,

Tropical warm regards!

Quaint hotel with a great pool layout, with multiple hot tubs, swim up bar, and childrens pool area. Staff was very friendly, and the main facility was uniquely beautiful with food, bar, koi/fish pond, and games area. Being so remote, the view from the pool was serene to look up into the night sky and see all the stars. Also access to be able to swim in the Rio Celeste (forbidden if you do it in the actual park itself). More of a couples place in my opinion, and the rooms were beautifully laid out, with outdoor shower, jacuzzi tub, and natural decor. I will say the room had more light switches in a single hotel room than i have ever seen by 3x. But no complaints. Very unique and worth every dollar spent. Hotel staff was extremely hospitable.

I totally recommend Rio Celeste Hideaway Hotel!
We used three bungalows for our group of five people and each room was lovely and kept up at the highest standards. The outdoor showers are beautiful and the bathrooms are sparkling clean. The beds were very comfortable and the linens are high-quality.
We enjoyed walking around the grounds and even saw some fireflies at night in the gardens. A sloth lives in a tree on the hotel grounds and white face monkeys are nearby also. Birds and butterflies are in abundance. The river is nearby - just a walk down the trail.
All in all I could not have asked for more. Our five night vacation will be remembered always. The staff is welcoming, friendly and professional. The restaurant serves delicious food and the pool and hot tubs were so beautiful and relaxing. This was our second visit to this hotel and it was like returning to visit old friends.
I give this hotel the highest rating possible plus a few points. We had an outstanding vacation here!

Great to hear that your group loved their stay with us at Rio Celeste Hideaway Hotel! Being located next to Tenorio Volcano National Park and have our own private 84 acres reserve make Rio Celeste Hideaway a great place to spot sloths (Emma the one you met), white-nosed coati, white-throated capuchin, mantled howler monkey, and a variety of insects and birds. Our chef and his team will be delighted to receive your comments on the food.
