We spent three nights here in late October in what amounted to a one-bedroom efficiency apartment. Off-season rates were pretty cheap: about $152 a night. The resort is located a short walk from the main Breckenridge business/restaurant area. It's not on a busy street, as some of the condos are. Staff was helpful. We had a parking space underground. The apartment had a completely equipped kitchen (all the tools, but no food), a decent bathroom, a nice sitting area, and a small bedroom area. The TV was pretty small. There was a balcony, but you could only stand on it. There were quirks. The resort has no air conditioning. We didn't need it, but I would be wary about staying here in warm weather. The HVAC system was odd, and we couldn't control the temperature very well. We were on the 7th floor, the highest, and there was a lot of annoying noise from a building utility system. We had an interesting view of the town, but not the classic mountain-slope view. Getting to the nice outdoor pool and jacuzzis required a round-about walk that traversed two sets of steel stairs. The resort has no restaurant, and the lobby and common areas do not have exterior views.

Room tip: Be careful of the view you get, there are a lot of units with poor views.

Service was awesome. People were very helpful. We stayed in a studio which had a full kitchen. Unit was well maintained and updated. Bathroom cold but had a heater. Studio heating was variable, but extra heaters were provided. Excellent location and convenient to Main Street. Had a waffle breakfast, but would have been nice to have some protein. Lounge small. A nice amenity would be morning coffee and rolls. Daily activities planned. Would stay here again. Would be nice if front desk knew more about area activities and events of the week.

Room tip: Ask for top floor and balcony. Top floor has vaulted ceilings. Ask also for a view of Maggie Pond.

If you are looking for a great location that is a 2 minute walk to Main Street, the Marriott Mountain Valley Lodge in Breckenridge is a well kept secret! For an older Marriott property, the staff, amenities, activities, and overall experience is top notch! The scenery is as good as it gets. We took advantage of the daily hikes offered by Kelly and Andrew. They were wonderful tour guides who truly have a passion for for their profession. The front desk staff was very friendly, and truly desired to make our vacation the best it could be. I enjoyed talking to John who worked evenings and had great ski stories. The hot chocolate social hours were awesome. The chocolate covered marshmellows were the bomb! Our 1 bedroom villa had two full size bathrooms, and 2 sofa beds which made it feel like a 2 bedroom. What I love about Marriott is how quick they are to respond to our needs. When we needed more towels, dish soap, help getting the DVD player to work, a attendant was knocking on our door within 10 minutes. We enjoyed the Ghost Tour and Saloon Tour which really told the history of the town. For the price, we felt the Marriott Mountain Valley Lodge was a great value. Hats off to another well managed Marriott property! We will be back in the near future!

Room tip: I asked for a great view on a top floor in close proximity to the lobby and they accommodated me.

The wife and I were on a motorcycle trip and the rates were low before the ski madness hits.
Kelsey at the front desk was amazing. The room had great kitchen with everything to include an oven. We used the bbq grills outside to Bbq steaks. Kelsey had grill utensils at the front desk for us.
The property is very secure. You need your room access key to get around from building to building. Kind of a pain but necessary I guess.
We also enjoyed one of the 4 hot tubs. The temp was warm enough but not too hot to enjoy a long soak.
October is quiet around town but that’s what we were in the mood for. We’ll be back for sure.

I found this hotel (oh! excuse me, vacation resort) on Marriott's website, listed right next to the other Marriotts in the area. We expected, therefore, to experience Marriott's quality of hotel, but we were sorely disappointed. We called ahead on our day of arrival, asking to check in early, and were told that once we arrived the staff would begin getting our room ready but that there was no way to guarantee anything before 4 pm. I thought that strange, because in the past Marriott has been more than accommodating with early check-ins. When we arrived at noon, we told the front desk that we were there in order for them to get our room ready. Two and a half hours later, while our groceries were spoiling, they had yet to inform us if the room was ready. The front staff (in particular Claire) was very rude and spiteful, seemingly unfazed that their lackluster service was the source of the plethora of displeased customers who had been ignored as we were. Whenever I asked when it was to be ready they would claim to go check, and then would never give me an update. Eventually they let us in our room, and we come to discover that the check-out time is 10 am! We were both shocked with the lack of care, and throughout the trip we found the room tired, the bed extremely lumpy and uncomfortable, and the staff mostly rude. Claire in particular was very rude and self-consumed. We will never be staying here again, and I feel as though they should remove Marriott from their name. Marriott should beware of such "resorts" which are staining their name.

Room tip: Higher rooms are better

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and leave a review. As we are a Vacation Club, our multi-room villas take longer to clean and prepare than a standard hotel room and early check-in/late check-out is not always available. We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced during your stay.
