Beautiful, comfortable, romantic, convenient. Great amenities, large suites, full kitchens, fireplace, balconies. Great for anytime, but especially Fall and Winter. Walking distance to downtown Breckenridge. Try to get here every year. Never disappointed. Great spa treatments too.

The Valdoro Mountain Lodge is a beautiful hotel in the resort city of Breckenridge. We enjoyed the large hot tub and the well equipped exercise room. The staff, as with most Hilton run hotels, was excellent. We stayed in early May which is a slow time for hotel and surrounding businesses. Some of the restaurants close for May. We had to drive to Frisco to try out The Lost Cajun - the one in Breckenridge was closed for the week. Still, the slow pace of the city and lack of lines suited us quite well.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay at Valdoro Mountain Lodge and Breckenridge. You are right, in between the end of ski season and the busy summer is a slower time with some restaurants and shops closed but most of those open offer great specials during this time. We hope to see you back soon at Valdoro Mountain Lodge!

The rooms are great. Set in the trees, very comfortable. Love the exercise room and pool area. We go there to relax and unwind. Within walking distance of main street. Lots of shopping and food. About 100 yards from ski lift.

Room tip: All the rooms have been comfortable.

In early May, we stayed in a 2 bed unit which was very nicely appointed. However, the sofa and living room chairs are not very comfortable to sit in for long. Being at 9600 feet - they did not have air conditioning and the room tended to get hot with no way to cool it down other than open the windows. Those are the only 2 complaints I have - we enjoyed the unit very much - used both bathrooms (even though there were only 2 of us!) which let us spread out our stuff! We used the kitchen every morning to make our own breakfast. We were there for 6 nights and we got maid service on the 3rd day! Very conveniently located to Breckenridge downtown shops. However, we were not aware that May was Mud Season - meaning most of the shops and restaurants were closed! However, we found a few open, but was disappointed that many we wanted to try were closed. All the historical museums were also closed in and around Breck. We drove to Vail one day and it was even a worse ghost-town! Breckenridge was much more livelier as the week went on. We visited Sapphire Point -3 times - it was our most favorite view overlooking Lake Dillon. There are very friendly chipmunks up there - so cute! Loveland Pass was scary, Hoosier Pass was interesting - and just past there was a little town with a museum mining town (which was closed!) but would have been a great visit if we could have explored it. At 9600 feet - I experienced Altitude Sickness and had to get an oxygen unit after an ER visit! It was challenging to do any more than walk (at a slow pace!) We drove everywhere, but in a busier season you won't find parking. However Valdoro has a shuttle to take and pick you up around town. We enjoyed the restaurants we went to - Kenosha Steakhouse, CB Potts (delightful strawberry tea!), Fatty's (yummy crab boil on Friday nite!), Modis and Hearthstone. We took advantage of the Passport ($10 donation) to get 2 for 1 meals and specials (available during Mud Season only). We're not into the sports and athletic activities, but there is much to do in that line. Unfortunately, May is between seasons - so no ski lifts (or gondolas) were in operation. Snow was still falling and the hiking trails weren't all available at the higher elevations. (Sapphire Point was the exception). The mountain scenery was spectacular with their snow covered peaks.

Thank you for letting us know about your recent stay. Off-season is a slower time as you mentioned, some restaurants/shops do close after the ski area closes for a period of time to get ready for the busy summer season. Glad you took advantage of the Dining Passport with discounts and Sapphire Point is such a beautiful overlook area. We hope to see you back soon at Valdoro Mountain Lodge.
