I've seen a lot of pedestrian malls in America and Europe since setting foot on my first one in Kalamazoo, Michigan back in the 1960s. Boulder's Pearl Street Mall can hold its own with the best of them. We were fortunate to join the evening crowd on a football weekend. There was an electric vibe to the place and it was thronged with people, most of them young, having a wonderful time. The people watching was just about as good as it gets. I can't wait to do it again.
