Previously gave this 5 stars. New management has made cutbacks to quality. The chicken fried steak is not the quality it was, and not as tasty. The delicious thick doughy English Muffins have been replaced with low quality ones. The whole menu has changed with fewer choices and smaller portions. There are better options in Black Hawk.

We stayed at the Ameristar because we were going to the Central City Opera. After getting back, we thought this would be a good place to get a dinner before swimming.

Service was prompt and food was served quick. We had burgers and a "Ruben". The food was a little better than average. The waiter warned my spouse that the Ruben wasn't a typical Ruben. It was brisket and cole slaw. He thought it was pretty good. The burger was well cooked and there were a few options as sides.

We picked the restaurant because we were planning to do a buffet for breakfast. Come to find out that Ameristar doesn't have a breakfast buffet and other buffets don't allow you take you child with you. So we ended up having breakfast at this restaurant too.

Nothing fancy here - a good breakfast palace with a small menu but everything you need. Hot coffee a lot of friendly service staff.

Heading there for breakfast at 10:00am there was a line out the door, yet nobody inside. We finally get seated in a half empty restaurant to wait another 20 minutes for coffee and acknowledgement. The food took a long time and both our orders were totally wrong. Waiting on the right orders took once again a really long time. A simple breakfast in a fairly empty restaurant took over an hour. The food once we got it was good.
