The B&B itself is about a 45-60 minute drive to the entrance of the Sequoia National Park. It is a gorgeous, spacious B&B that takes you back in time. I felt like I was in a history film. Monica gives the most detailed and interesting stories about everything in the house and around town to make you feel more at home and to understand where you are staying. The bed was super comfy and the bathroom was fantastic. The food each morning was delicious and mostly locally sourced. The omelette was the best I have ever tasted. It is a shame we did not get to walk around the property as we were too exhausted each night after trekking around the national park.

We would not hesitate to come back. A must for any Sequoia visitor!

Hello, dear guests. This is too silly, but being so low-tech, we just learned that we can respond to reviews. Yours is heartfelt and so appreciative! Will you please come again, and be sure to ask for an omelet. Warm regards, Monica and Jack

We have enjoyed the vacation of a lifetime, and we owe our treasured memories to Jack and Monica! Our B&B Hosts have 20 years experience in the hospitality trade, providing superb service with genuine warmth and grace. We were received like family, and treated with the utmost of care.
Wicky-Up Ranch is an idyllic, picturesque setting, perfectly located for our Mother/Daughter birthday weekend. We were thrilled with the comfort of the upstairs Julianna Suite, Hillside room, and private bath. Included is a welcoming lounging area, which separates the two bedrooms; here we enjoyed spirited card games, meaningful conversation, and long periods of relaxation. The entire second floor is lined with windows, providing the perfect vantage point to enjoy the stunning views.
Our bedrooms, bathroom, and living room area was meticulously cleaned each day of our stay.
Miss Monica was a huge help assisting with the details of supper reservations, as well as arranging a fabulous massage in the Julianna Suite, for our 23 y/o daughter on her birthday. We felt truly pampered!
Each morning soothing music would draw us downstairs to the wonderful ambiance of the dining room, rich in history and luxury. Our spectacular breakfasts were skillfully prepared by Jack and Monica using locally sourced organic ingredients.
hmmmm incredible!!
We look forward to enjoying this experience again, perhaps making it an annual event!

We just LOVED this B&B! My husband and I try to stay at a B&B during all of our travels and this one was by far our favorite.

It was in such a beautiful setting, with a gorgeous sunset, wrap-around porch, various outdoor sitting areas, filled with jasmine. Monica and Jack were so sweet and we just loved chatting with them about the orange ranch and the home (built in 1900). The home was so clean, with so many neat antiques, pictures, and history. The views were amazing and so very relaxing. We stayed in the Juliana Suite and had a wonderful stay. There is just so much to explore! Monica and Jack are very knowledgable of the area and can point you to many options for day and nighttime sightseeing. Breakfast was amazing. All local, all organic, and all fresh. We highly recommend this ranch.

Such a pleasure to stay at this lovely home! We adored the history & stories. It was wonderfully welcoming and rich in history. The food was FABULOUS! It was Organic, homemade, and made with love. We even ate edible flowers grown on the property. It was simply peaceful, warm, memorable, & relaxing. It was a most peaceful place to step away from the hubbub of the city. Monica is an amazing story teller and you'll be in awe with the rich history of the house, the family, and the area. Jack has some pretty fabulous stories about music and you'll have to ask him about his 'musical art work'.

My family rented the top floor suite, it has two bedrooms, then you share the bathroom. It was plenty of room to enjoy your own space. It was a blessing to not have TV!

Their dog, Sweet Pea, will even take you on a walk of the property...she has her very own trail/route.

After traveling all around and exploring the area, this was the best place to stay. I will surely bring my guests here when they come for a visit.

Room tip: If you have a family, rent the top floor (suite) of the home, it has two bedrooms, then you share the bathroom. No TV is a blessing!

Hello, Dear Guests!! Surprise...just figured out that we could respond to reviews. We are just too low-tech (LOL). We sure hope you will come back and bring your family or friends. Sweet Pea is waiting to take you on a walk again, and we are waiting to give you breakfast treats. When you need to get away from the "hub bub" again, our door will be open to you all. Warm regards, Monica and Jack

We have been to Wicky Up 3 times now and will continue to keep going back. The ranch house is surrounded by beautiful orange groves and rocky, arid hills. You can go for a walk around the groves or up into the hills right from the house, and maybe Monica & Jack's dog, Sweetpea, will come along with you. Or if lounging with a book is your preference, you can relax on their screened-in, wrap-around front porch or inside in their cozy living room. There are plenty of interesting things to see in the house from vintage games to family portraits; so take a walk around and explore. Monica & Jack love sharing the house's very interesting history. We recommend staying in the Juliana Suite; there is a sitting room just for you, the bed is very comfy & the rooms very clean. Furthermore, the breakfast is to die for! Two amazing courses are served very elegantly, and are accompanied by local honey, various types of local oranges depending on the season, and blueberries, blackberries & mint from their garden. Also, Monica & Jack love to spend time at breakfast getting to know their guests; we have made some new friends and we continue to keep in touch with them. On our last visit, they invited us to go to Visalia with them to a "Cup of Jazz" at 210 Cafe. What an unexpected pleasure! This is a music fest every Saturday morning from 10am to noon; if you have a talent, whether it's playing an instrument, tap dancing, singing or even storytelling, you can join in the fun or just sit back & tap your feet to the rhythm. Another benefit of Wicky Up is its location in relation to Sequoia National Park; the drive to Sequoia is gorgeous, winding through more orange groves, mountains, around a reservoir & along a river, leading up into the Park. We will definitely be back to Wicky Up to see the sequoias & to a "Cup of Jazz." Wicky Up is a peaceful, relaxing oasis, a perfect home base for exploring Sequoia, but make sure to set aside some time for just exploring the ranch house and its gardens. It has become our new home away from home!
