We stayed 3 nights in the cottage at Wicky-Up and loved it! Monica and Jack are amazing hosts who know the area and provide maps, history and ideas to see all that this beautiful area has to offer. We couldn't have done so much in such a short time without them. Every morning Monica prepared a gourmet breakfast with organic and locally grown foods, beautifully served in the ranch dining room. The guest rooms there are beautifully decorated, as is the ranch itself. The cottage is my favorite: cozy, colorful and has a private patio. It overlooks the orange groves and is so relaxing! We're glad we found Wicky-Up because it just fits in so beautifully to this rugged part of California.

Room Tip: If you stay in the cottage, you still have access to the kitchen, living room and porch at the ranch house. It would be nice to bring a tablet with to watch a movie in the cottage.

While planning our trip to the Sequoia/Kings' Canyon area, we felt Wicky-Up would be a great base for a three night stay. We quickly discovered Wicky-Up to be an oasis of coziness and comfort amongst the foothills.

The ranch house is a delightful mix of architectural whimsy and family history. Lots of relaxing outdoor spaces, complete with bird sounds and trickling water, sheltered by the quiet citrus groves.

Breakfasts are a special occasion. Luscious local fruit, fluffy omelets, savory and sweet breads, freshly squeezed Valencia orange juice, tea from the family silver....ahh, so wonderful! Truly some of the best breakfast we have ever enjoyed!

But the very heart of Wicky-Up are Monica and Jack. Welcoming, warm, helpful but unobtrusive; they are a couple born to run a B & B. Interesting and enjoyable; high praise from this home-body introvert!

You could not possibly regret a visit to Wicky-Up!

My husband and I recently stayed 4 nights at Wicky-Up Ranch in the Garden Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Warm inviting hosts ( we wanted to make smores one night so Monica and Jack made sure we had everything we needed to start a fire and even made us skewers out of coat hangers), incredibly delicious breakfasts, beautiful scenery, and lots of adventures in surrounding areas. We would love to go back for another stay!

Wow... what a gem! So grateful for our stay at the Wicky-Up Ranch! Such a refreshing visit! The location is convenient to Sequoia National Park, just as the Sierra foothills transition to the orange groves of the valley. The ranch is beautiful... lots of amazing craftsmanship combined with rich family history and Monica's exquisite attention to detail. We arrived later than originally expected, but Monica was flexible and welcoming. She made us feel right at home and pointed us in the right direction for some dinner (at the Dry Creek Deli just down the road). Then we returned to relax in the soothing atmosphere of her home. We (husband, 2 children, and I) stayed in the suite upstairs which provided lots of spacious privacy. I enjoyed the beauty (sights, scents & sounds) of the gardens. We slept with the window open, listening to the doves cooing. Breakfast was scrumptious: the freshest orange juice ever, croissants with jams, quiche, the works... delicious! Unfortunately, we had a time commitment and could not linger but we are hoping to return. Monica & Jack were generous hosts... and will leave no stone unturned! Side note: my husband apparently had a more challenging time sleeping due to a chirping sound (later found to be an alarm going off in a closet), and when he mentioned it in passing to Monica, she was deeply dismayed and profusely apologetic... she ended up sending a written apology along with a partial refund... so unexpected and so unnecessary but that is how she is: genuinely committed to the best experience for her guests. We appreciate your heart and look forward to visiting again!!!

What a lovely surprise! The hosts are just fantastic, their hospitality is second to none, interior is wonderful down to every last detail. We visited the Sequoia National Park and went horse riding, interesting and intelligent conversation in the evenings and lovely organic breakfasts in the morning. Highly recommended :-)

Hello, Dear Guests,
We appreciate your sincere and complimentary review. It's been nearly 3 years since you were here, and we extend an invitation to come again. There's so much more to do in our area, and it's a super getaway even if you just relax, read and listen to water fountains and birds.
We send warm regards, Monica and Jack
